We came here for their epic weekend brunch. It's $60 but worth every penny. It comes with unlimited booze and delicious food from steaks to sushi to traditional breakfast foods.
Some highlights:
Fish Taquitos (SO fresh and SO good)
Mashed potatoes (super creamy)
Desserts
The atmosphere is really nice and you can explore the grounds of the beautiful hotel.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 15 Feb 2017
Yes yes yes!
If you're planning to visit here especially for the Sunday brunch - DO NOT MISS IT! Worth every penny and go with the bottomless mimosa!
Buffet - large selection of meats, cold cuts, deserts. Entre game could have been stronger but meh!
Staff is super courteous and respectable.
Downside - hard to secure a spot here, especially in large groups.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 72447737810 Dec 2015
Ha. I probably started my draft puff Trio four or five years ago. Most places I truly love, I don't review, and Trio is no exception. I'd you can read through that series of double negatives, what I mean to say is: I heart Trio. It's real and it's deep.
This was the first place I ever had Grüner Veltliner, and it was a revelation and probably led to my present day wine mania. At that time, they had a master sommelier on staff, only recently having lost him. The current wine list is still great and I recently had to buy a case of a brut rose we'd had on my birthday. It's damn good. And naturally, good wine is even better at happy hour where a good selection is available for $8 a glass. They also have beer and cocktails but those are not discounted at happy hour.
Right now, they are running a "Shucks it's Wednesday" special: $1.50 oysters. This week, they were all PEI and divine. In addition, they have the other happy hour foods which rotate seasonally. Some seasons, it's heavy on fried/bread/starch or some combination, some seasons it more protein based. Right now, I see beef, and chicken, and game, and seafood on the menu, so it's a good time to visit.
It's always a good time to come for full on dinner at Trio. I've only been a couple times but it's a real treat. They also host various events through out the year, some in conjunction with local charities, some just special food and wine pairings. I've been to a few of those too when I'm feeling fancy. And brunch if you really want to treat yourself, is fab. When you come for full service, it is really full service: expect the seat to pulled out, the napkin to be placed for you, etc. Top shelf service.
Service at happy hour may not be as reliable, for instance: went last week, fabulous service at the bar and even got comped a beautiful birthday cupcake; went last night, and got very indifferent service from out waitress, but the food runner and waiters from the main dining room were more than attentive, one even replying "anything" when I asked if I could ask him for something. It was an "as you wish" moment. Well, at least in my head.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - 17 Feb 2016
Came here for an anniversary dinner, the restaurant personalized our menus (let us keep them as a souvenir), the grounds of the hotel are beautiful. All the staff are polite and accommodating. Prepare to spend $100-$200 for a party of 2, but it was well worth it. Something nice to try at least one, if not come back to try the other great dishes on the menu.
Good:
-Jumbo Lump Crab Cake (DELICIOUS)
-Republic Square Salad
-Smoked Rib-eye (DELICIOUS, just melts in your mouth)
-Striped Bass
-Coconut Curry Cauliflower (DELICIOUS)
-Dessert: House Made Ice Cream (3 scoops of great ice cream-chocolate, SALTED CARAMEL, and pistachio)
-Trio Cocktail (sparkling wine)
-Under the Oak (with tequila)
-RSVP for 1000 points on OpenTable
-Personalized service, they paid attention to the details of my request
-The ambiance of the hotel sets the tone
-Beautiful and scenic outdoor seating
Bad:
-I think the Striped Bass while tasty, could have been a bigger cut of fish to be more fillingHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Moe F.Arlington, United States373605 Jun 2018
We stopped into the restaurant for lunch while visiting Austin. It is located inside of the Four Seasons hotel. If it is a busy weekend in Austin expect the lobby to be hopping (in a reserved, classy, Four Seasons kind of way). You can usually hear some of the live music coming from there, which can add a fun something different.
Good:
- Food was fresh, yummy, and the presentation was amazing.
- The lunch plate special comes on a plate that includes a little desert and half-sandwich.
- Service was on point, super attentive, and helpful
- Outside parklike setting (sat out on the terrace surrounded by trees
- The steak salad wedge with in-house dressing and pork-belly bacon bits was, oh-so delicious!
Bad:
- birds - lots of local birds when you are eating outside. This can be distracting, and occasionally disruptive. Not sure what they could do, maybe those cables you see in some places
- inside space is a little disconnected with a main dinner room, and a side bar, just eat outside if you can. It's worth it.
Summary:
It's on the pricier side for lunch or dinner, but I would recommend it over some other places if you are in the area or staying at the hotel. Definitely one of the best hotel restaurants in the area, and honestly the lunch special wasn't bad for what you got. Everything that came out was good. Be aware it could be busy or hard to get in if an event is going on at the hotel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 3 May 2017
Trio is quite a restaurant even for a Four Seasons Hotel. I loved their breakfasts--enchiladas, and huevos rancheros. Fresh squeezed OJ, and friendly service make this a quiet little place for a great meal. I no longer take a quality breakfast for granted. Efficiency experts have been the ruin of American restaurants over the last quarter century. Hopefully a new emphasis on quality over quantity, and speed will make a strong comeback. Certainly, at Trio you are in for a quality meal!

Thanks to fellow Yelper Quani C's invite to her birthday brunch, I got to check off a big bucket list item when it comes to Austin dining. Yep, brunch at the Four Seasons. I spent a few hours inhaling some rare air that only rappers and dictators can afford. I was ballin' for about two hours spending time in a private dining room with dozens of expensive wine bottles with celebrity autographs.
Strangely, the didn't ask me to sign anything which I thought was a sign of respect and I didn't have to beat up any unruly paparazzi. Usually for Yelp review and Facebook purposes, I pull out my snappy 500 megapizzel camera phone and snap my plate making millions of people hungry with envy. A note on that, I was totally embarrassed at the amount of food I consumed.
After eating almost every prime rib option in America, Trio's brunch offering was quite solid with splendid horseradish sauce. If that didn't get your saliva glands started gaze upon the cold crab claw and jumbo shrimp station. Chicken and Waffles? Bread Station! The benedict that paired soft poached eggs with sweet cornbread and spinach was my fave. Eggs don't actually need to be in a chafing dish?
I thought that was hotel law or something. Apologies to all the made to order omlette guys out there; but apparently I've neglected to understand what minimum number of stars I should consider when picking my next accommodations on a travel website. I realize Trio commands a stiff price for Sunday dining and I have to say Its worth the splurge. I ate near every petite and intimate bite off the dessert bar only to eat more cake provided by the staff for Quani's special day.
Bottomless mimosas the entire meal. Did anyone get a bottle count? Did they put it on the wall? Still pouring away well after we paid our tabs. I quite liked the idea of for $60 per person I was eating like an actual rockstar. Seriously, I hope my next birthday is on a Sunday. We've all had a crap buffet at hotels that costs $20 and after eating it you imagined you could have done better at IHOP? For the quality and service; money well spent.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 21 Apr 2011
Let me start by saying that a lot of convincing had to be done for me to spend $50 on a brunch buffet... But, I am glad Ms Finch is a lawyer and convinced me to the point I would have paid for her and her cousin too!!! lol
The restaurant is located at the Four Seasons Hotel, Austin. Valet was $7 and the restaurant was downstairs. The wait was 30 minutes so my mom, Toria and I got to walk around the beautiful grounds. Now, landscaping was awesome and if you can grab a garden chair in the shade, heaven can't be too far away.
Brunch was amazing! Unlimited drinks including mimosas. The food included all types of delicious foods and desserts. I loved the crab legs and the different cheeses were amazing!! oh, how I loved that brunch! It is also worth mentioning that you can seat out in the patio or indoors, we chose outdoor and the weather could not have been any better. Only thing is that after a while, the sun started hitting our table straight on. I recommend you sit under one of the umbrellas.
Was it worth $50?? (well, really $48 plus tax and tip) Probably not, but for a special occasion IT is definitely the place to be. My brunch experiences will now and forever be compared to the delicious brunch I enjoyed at Trio's!!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Diya L.Austin, United States75722743220 Dec 2015
Brunch review:
TRIO has been one of my favorite establishments for an upscale dining experience due to the service. Today I decided to treat my family to the brunch here since they've never really had a fancier meal before.
FOOD: On the menu were ribeye, raw oysters on half shell, crab claws, sushi, omlettes made to order, breakfast usuals, salad bar, ceviche, and so much more. Beverage choices include coffee (with soy milk available), freshly squeezed juice, tea, champagne, and endless mimosas. My favorite is the crab claw and the unagi sushi... The steak was a bit on the fattier side which was a shame, but still really tender and amazing. All of the steak was cooked rare to medium rare, but they cooked it further for my mother who for some reason likes her steak well done. (Can one disown her mother? No? Oh well.) My siblings loved the samosas and my mother loved the seafood and steak.
SERVICE: the service was mostly amazing with constant refills and endless smiles. The only complaint was near the end when there were at least 5 waiters around me and yet it was difficult to flag someone down to get my check. I had to wait behind while my family left to wait in the lobby.
Overall, this is a great place to wow your guests. The brunch is a great option in particular so that those you treat don't feel compelled to get the less expensive items on the menu as everything is already covered. TRIO matched my Asian mother's expectations and for that, I am thankful. ;)Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - 30 Aug 2016
As if the food wasn't already good enough, here comes an amazing wine list. Not just a large selection but a GOOD selection! I would come here and dine just for the wine!
Ambience is nice and upscale. The service is good. It is classic American fine dining specializing in big tender, flavorful steaks, top notch shellfish and fish. Plenty of deliciously fresh sides as well.
Yes, it's very expensive but it's always a good night out at TRIO.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
