26/7/2016Have gone twice for lunch... first time, I got the BBQ burrito and the second time, I got the steak nudos (their version of a Chipotle burrito bowl).
All in all, it wasn't very much different from Chiptole (as I'm from the US where Chipotle is everywhere). However, it was definitely a little cheaper, has better flavor, and offers large portions and service than Tortilla (which is another place similar to Chipotle close by on Upper St). - 27260
10/12/2018Well, I love their grilled chicken, prawns and steak. However, the majority of their food is way too salty and the coriander rice is too sour and salty. Their corn chips is the worst amongst the Mexican chains - Benito's Hat is the best, followed by Chipotle. And their Guacamole contains chunks of raw onions with tons of salt. I have tasted Guacamole at various Mexican restaurants in California and London, and their is the bottom of the league.
I do hope the management take a closer look at the salt content of all foods as well as the quality of Guacamole and Corn Chips, and improve the taste and flavour.
As for the portion, it really varies from one server to the other. - Elizabeth A.Miramar, San Diego, United States19496141
22/2/2019This place was okay, it is pretty much a British version of Chipotle. I had a vegan bowl and it was good. It is great place to dine at if you want a quick meal.

11/8/2018I just paid £10.50 for a burrito that was half the filling of any normal burrito. Wow , were they cheap with the filings - 1/2 spoon of rice, 1/2 spoon of beans, a few bits of meat and lettuce and 5 small shrimps (surf and turf they call it) - oh yeah and an extra £1.50 for one "whole" spoon of guacamole, which you have to get it in order try and fill the burrito so it doesn't look like the bread if simply wrapping up bits and pieces from someone else's left overs.

26/7/2015The best place in the WORLD! I would live here given half a chance... The burritos are to die for! My absolutely favourite is the prawn burrito with black beans and peppers with hot salsa and guac... Absolutely delicious...
The portion sizes are very generous, so definitely come with an empty stomach.. Prices come to around the 8 pound mark with a burrito and guac! Beers are very reasonable around the 4 quid mark..
If you are in Islington.. No sketch that.. if you are in London.. It is a must visit!!! - Alisa R.Edinburgh1583712404
4/8/2015I love a good burrito and this place made my day. It's like chipotle (it's ok to compare right?). They ve got black beans!!! I LOVE black beans!!!
I got a chicken burrito bowl with guac and was in heaven ! Great seasoning on their meats and delicious guac! I was disappointed with their chips, just not much flavour and a bit too cardboard like... But it didn't ruin my meal so I'm not too bothered about it.
I also got their fresh lemonade and it was delicious and refreshing !
Similar to chipotle but different in spices and flavours, both good just different . I'll take a burrito bowl here any time! - Dan K.Finsbury Park, London41249
8/11/2017Used to be good. Now they serve small portions and old salad.
I'm a regular here but since last couple of months things started to look bad. Waiters don't seem to listen and servings became noticeably smaller.
The green salad leaves just clearly old and shouldn't be served. - Ranjith R.Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire10587889
9/12/2014My favourite joint for lunch on the go during a busy workday.
I normally have the Grilled Chicken salad primarily because I find it easier to eat! For a regular salad under £6 is good value for money. Double meat costs £2.50 extra. Go big only if you have a huge appetite. They do Chicken, Steak, Pork and Prawns. Cost vary but mostly around six quid mark for a meal. It could be a Burrito, Nudo (or naked burrito), Salad or Tacos.
The set up is that standard Mexican joint like the Chipotle or Tortilla but the flavours just burst through every bite you take. Conveyor belt model with multiple persons servicing. Spice Rice, Black or Pinto Beans, Grilled Bell Peppers, Three sauces of varying heat factor is perfect match for your food. I personally go for a mix of mild (salsa) and hot. The chicken (and presumably other meats as well) is seasoned and cooked to perfection. A dash of sour cream and cheese and their own proprietary dressing makes my salad perfect. I skip the Guacamole as it is charged £1 and is a shame. Having said that is quite good and is better tasting then others out there.
Decent selection of drinks including home made Lemonade and beers and some interesting lunch combos. They experiment new recipes from time to time and they are currently doing a slow cooked shoulder of pork which I got to taste today and it was pretty good.
If you have been to the other standard Mexican on the go places you will know what to expect however the flavours will blow you away and the Islington branch will transport you to Mexico the way it is decked up, check out the seating upstairs which is creatively done! Last but not least the happy smiling welcoming staff complete the experience!

2/11/2016Just okay. I read some comparison to Chipotle in the US, but really, Chipotle is way better and tastier.
On a hungry afternoon, I passed by and ordered the supposedly best burrito they have: the surf and turf £7.95) - steak and prawns. Steak was reheated pieces of precooked, hard bits of meat; prawns were cooked on the spot.
The other typical burrito ingredients, like the rice and beans, were very plain and didn't taste authentic. The toppings, from the veggies, to a tired pico de gallo, to the cheddar, were also just barely okay for me.
Inside the burrito, the reheated "steak" was hard and way too chewy. The prawns were passable. I didn't find myself looking forward to the next bite and just got through it out of hunger.
A side of Guacamole was plain. The salsas were actually really good. The chips were solid too. Service is friendly.
Sorry Chilango, I wanted to like you more but the ingredients are just not good enough for me, even for a bite at a fast food joint. - Leza S.London2484236
16/10/2016Really easy to get to from Angel tube station. The interior of the store is pretty cool with colourful artwork and postures. Lots of seating up and downstairs. The burritos are good especially the prawn although you have to wait a few minutes for them to cook the prawns. The staff are friendly and helpful. In general it's a cool place to get a bite to eat which is not going to break the bank.
