I've always loved bowling, even though I suck at it (I blame my weak wrists, not the technique - ha!) And even though I lost 3 games to nil I really enjoyed my afternoon in All Star Lanes.

This place is pretty great if you're looking for somewhere fun to go where you can have a few games of bowling, some drinks and eats too.

I didn't eat here, although I have heard good things about the food, it was a little early in the day and we had booked Reds True BBQ for dinner so I didn't want to eat too much beforehand.

The 3 games of bowling I had here with my friend from London were so much fun! I didn't have the barriers up either..! Yey! But still lost.
We drank beer and cocktails for hours and had a blast. Pretty sure anyone who comes here with mates is going to have a fab time!

      Really good cocktails in here
      So much fun!!

      Updated review

All Star Lanes was the location of our company Christmas party back in December; I knew very early on in the year but, due to our strategy for keeping people excited for the event, had to keep it a secret!

The booking process was simple from the beginning and they were clear about technical aspects such as payment terms etc. Although we explained it was a secret event and never to use the landline, they unfortunately did - they also didn't seem to take us off their sales list, meaning we got endless calls about having an event, despite already booking with them! Sigh.

They redeemed themselves on the night. Based in the Jungle Room, a leopard carpeted treat, we had two lanes to ourselves and a plethora of food and drinks. We had everything from pigs in blankets to deep fried mac & cheese fritters; these aren't your usual canapes, and they're more than happy to lay on a tasting if you're curious as to what you should serve.

Staff knew exactly what was in the cocktails, as requested, and bar service ran fairly smoothly - it did get rather busy once all the pre-bought drinks had gone and people flocked to the bar, but they soon got used to it and kept up! They were also very patient; once we've all had a few, it can get a bit rowdy i.e. people thinking it funny to walk on the actual bowling alley, but noone felt put out at any time and they communicated with as frequently.

Great place for any event you might be planning.

The (long and) short of it: Service and karaoke were fantastic, bowling and food were good but pricey.

I'm an American college professor and I led a group of 10 students on a week-long trip to the UK (London and Manchester). In planning this trip, I had been looking for available forms of entertainment that would make for a fun evening for my students. A few weeks before our departure, I came across All-Star Lanes and listed it as a recommendation on our itinerary. I wasn't sure how it was going to go for us since it seemed like it was best to book bowling and karaoke in advance. Thankfully, we decided to go on a Thursday evening (right when the UK was on the precipice of the COVID-19 pandemic) so we were able to walk-in and eat, bowl, and sing. We were initially told there would be a one-hour wait to bowl after our meal but we ended up being able to bowl immediately after our meal. The meal itself was decent (or "mint," as the Mancs say) but not great and a bit on the pricey side...but I expect that from a place that does food and entertainment.

The customer service agents staffing the bowling desk, both upon our initial arrival and throughout the evening, were phenomenal -- they fully and patiently explained how everything worked and they were great with me and my students (I really wish I could remember these agents' names so I could give them shoutouts!)

We were able to split up our group into two bowling lanes with 5 players each (one of my students skipped the night out) and the lanes were clean, though one of them malfunctioned a couple of times -- resetting only nine pins instead of 10. At 10 pounds per person, the bowling was a little pricey (in the states, it's often $5-$8 pp) but we still enjoyed our time.

I personally think the karaoke, which was immediately available to us after bowling, was the highlight of the evening. It was only 5 pounds pp and the selection of songs was huge! The 10 of us probably got to sing for about 1.5 hours. I think our only complaint about the karaoke room was that there was very little ventilation, so the room was quite warm, even after we asked the staff to adjust the temperature.

Nevertheless, we all still had a great time and if/when I bring a group of students back to Manchester, I'll make sure to include All Star Lanes on our itinerary!

I'm not a bowling fan. For some reason I just can't seem to do it... I usually start off ok but then get cocky and end up being rubbish. I avoid it as much as possible but have bowled at both All Star Lanes and Dog Bowl. All Star is my favourite for its American style charm and family friendly lanes.

I have eaten here a few times. It is the ideal location after a couple of drinks and I've usually ended up here later on after some rum based cocktails at Revolucion De Cuba.

The cocktails are varied with a great mix of spirits and strengths. My favourite is the roller girl made with bubble gum syrup!

Food wise I would recommend the steak sandwich with added roquefort but be mindful it is served VERY rare unless you ask for it otherwise. I am also a fan of the goats cheese and beetroot salad if you are watching your waistline.

I do think the food is expensive especially if you are expecting the traditional bowling alley type prices we usually have in the UK.

Got asked to come along by a friend and so I did never realy heard much about all star lanes as I mainly stick to northern quarter.
Walked in the decor was nice and receptionist was friendly enough.
We got seated at our table and there was a large rowdy group sat opposite out table being loud.
The server was nice and friendly where he started to reel of a load of stuff that was not avaliable on the menu this was dispointing as it limited what I could eat
The meal well what can I say butter milk chicken burger was one of the worst versions of this I have had and tasted as for the texture is what rubbery.
There was not very much chicken inside and mainly padded out with veg.
On a whole a bad first experience but willing to try again on another day to see if they where just having a bad day.
I would recomend they offer a sharing or slider for people who are indecisive sort of a tasting menu.

Definitely more glamorous than Dog Bowl, but a little bit more expensive so it depends what you're looking for really.
My friends had tried to book a bowling lane in advance, but they were told that this could only be done if you booked a table and ate as well so we decided to just chance it.

There were six of us and we enjoyed the large tabled seating area surrounding the bar whilst we supped on their weird yet wonderful cocktail selection. It did take me multiple reads of the menu to decide which drink to order as there is a large selection. I ordered a rum based cocktail which was described as 'The Zombies' sibling so I knew full well it was gunna be fruity, strong and delicious and it certainly was.

After about half an hour we were told that a lane had become available so we wandered over and changed our shoes. I was extremely surprised when we were informed that we could start a tab and the staff would take our order and bring across our drinks so that we didn't have to disturb our game.

The lanes are super trendy and in pristine condition. The screens of course played silly bowling cartoon clips between each persons go, but that's all the fun.

The staff were amazing and the cocktails were delicious.

This would certainly be a great place to start a night out, or for a large birthday celebration.

Not my normal type of place and for what you get I think a little expensive. The staff are polite although one did accidentally spill drinks all down one of our party, so no points there.

I had a salad which was under dressed, but the rest of my party had burgers and seemed fairly happy with them, I just felt like there are far better options in Manchester if you want a burger, and you are likely to get sides as part of the cost.

Been here a few times and its a really nice, cool looking venue. They have gone for the 1950s American Diner sort of feel and its good place I think to go with a group - have a few games of bowling, have some drinks and eat some food.

The first time I came here was actually during the launch and was crazy busy. I remember being at the bar - in one of the private rooms - and spending ages there watching the bar staff take ages over each cocktail. By the time it got to me being served, he said he was not making an cocktails as it took too long. A bit disappointed but understandable with the number of people waiting.

I had a go on the bowling - there were just 2 lanes in this private room - and they seems a bit shorter than normal bowling lanes. I think it was just an "optical illusion" though. And hopefully they were not shorter because my score was awful!! My excuse is that I had not been bowling in ages - my only bowling recently-ish had been on the Wii!! Its not as easy to spin it and it can be more painful after awhile!

All Star Lane has 2 private rooms in total - the other one is not as big and not as private - and I think it doesn't have its own separate bar.

I have not eaten here but have drank here and had some of the cocktails which I liked.

If you dont fancy eating in All Star Lane, you have a options nearby - a couple places next door, others across the road and Spinningfields is just a few minutes walk away.

All Star Lane have various offers on - some regular, some special. For example, there is a special on Mothers Day this Sunday - free glass of presecco and dessert for everyone. They have a regular offer on Mondays which they called Groundhog (Mon)Day where you get 2 games for £10.

The diner has an offer this month I think which is a special Godfather burger.

Overall its a nice place and I reckon a good venue if organising a big group event.

Went here for my sisters birthday and it was brilliant. The booking process was really easy and if you want to eat either before your bowling they can link your booking so you have plenty of time to enjoy your food and then go for your bowling. My sister was running late and they simply shifted everything to accommodate! Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. They have at lane drinks service so you don't have to loose your bowling flow to get some refreshment! We had a really good night and the birthday card and cocktail that they gave my sister was a really lovely touch- would recommend. Yes the bowling isn't t the cheapest ( we went on a Thursday at 7.30pm) but i really enjoyed it

if you want to have a more pocket friendly evening go on a Monday when its 2 games for £10 - can't grumble at value like that

Went here tonight for my birthday with my partner. The girls on the bowling reception where great, and very welcoming. I even got a hand written birthday card and free cocktail from the restaurant! After a competitive (but great fun) game of bowling, we sat down to eat. The waiter was very accommodating and very efficient. The food was amazing, we definitely had eyes bigger than our bellies though, so couldn't manage a dessert! But I will definitely go back to try the waffles!! Finished the evening sitting outside people watching. The restaurant even provide blankets for when it gets a bit nippy! All in all, a great experience and will be returning for sure!
