Probably among some of the worst food I've ever eaten.

My friends and I went here for brunch and were faced with some highly inedible substances :/ The beverages are ok, usually, but the food always falls short.

I've noticed a sharp decline in quality over the past 3 - 6 months, where their chilli recipe which used to be amazing, is now akin to something out a tin. Bleuuurgh.

I've also been "lucky" enough to sample soggy rolls, cheese that smelt so disgusting I couldnt eat it, and a burger so burnt I couldnt tell what it was supposed to be.

The staff seem incapable of handling customer complaints, preferring to talk amongst themselves and ignore direct requests for assistance when things go bad (which they have been for a while) rather than sort out what could have been a minor complaint. I was ignored for 20 minutes, even when they cleared my still full plates from the table, they still refused to look me in the eye and acknowledge something was up. I had to stand at the bar a further 10, where I STILL wasnt asked if everything was ok with my meal, and by that point I was furious. People skills a serious all time low.

This place has so much potential. It would be a shame to carry on in its bad ways. Man up Tonic! Get yer finger out and give us some proper quality food.

Tonic has possibly the biggest range of burgers I've ever seen. I'm working my way through them and I'm not even halfway there. A relatively recent renovation has seen the emergence of Tonic from what was Popl Nero's. I'm sorry to say, however, I preferred it when it was Popl's. The portions are getting smaller whilst simultaenously getting more expensive. A sorry state of affairs. What offends me most, though, is the selection of 'coffee house/elevator music'.

Having said that, a plus point is that local acoustic musicians are offered the opportunity to play. This combined with a tasty burger is a good night out!

Massive selection of burgers, burger sizes, and burger meats. The burgers are pretty good, although nothing more special than most other similar places. The prices are okay, but the the portion size of chips on the side is extremely small. DO NOT get the Cajon Spice on them. Its the biggest ripoff and waste of 60p ever as they put almost none of the spice over the few chips you get. The service here was pretty bad. The waitress talked far to quickly and was difficult to understand what she was saying. Our bill was also wrong and it took them about 10 minutes to correct it, after which the waitress had a few issues using the card reader. The atmosphere was pretty nice however. All in all, the burgers were good, but nothing special compared with other burger places and the service was considerably lacking.

Working near here I visit for coffee regularly. Decent coffee, good price and friendly staff. Much better than the coffeeshop chains.

Possibly THE best chilli in town.

However, sometimes I find that when I get a burger, or a sandwich, Im served frozen and recently defrosted, soggy smelly buns and bread.

      THIS IS DISGUSTING.

Would be amazing if they stopped doing this. Massive choice of burgers. Nachos are awesome. Good for a lunch with mates, and you can get a read of the daily papers, but you never know when its smelly bun day...

The service was great, really cool guys. Food took a little time to come though but it was worth it. A lot of creative choices on the menu for burgers. Not sure I like the sour dough or pretzel bun concept but all in all it was good but not extraordinary.

Good for a drink. Bar maids alway look the part but unfortunatly it's not really sure if it's a pub, cafe of burger bar. I would suggest the manager sticks to pub as food didn't impress me. Deep fried every thing. Good boozer.
