This is the best restaurant for miles around - great food, excellent service and enormous portions! Highly recommended :-)

Mela has a pleasant vibe, attentive service and very easonable prices (assuming you take advantage of one of the permanent discounts you can find online!). Probably not somewhere you'll rave about but a solid choice for a pre-theatre curry or a meal out with friends.

Tasty ciabattas and super-quick service- nothing incredible but the best choice for a quick lunch in the area.

This Dim T restaurant is right next to the river with amazing views of Tower Bridge - ask for a table by the window when you book! The food is also very good - perfectly cooked Dim Sum and not too expensive.

I love this place. The selection of fresh, tasty salads, bread, cheeses and meats is amazing, and it's got a beautiful little garden area the back where you can enjoy a coffee in the sun away from the street.

Highly recommended - I almost don't want to share it, but I'd be heartbroken if it closed!  Go, people - support your local deli :-)

Artisan & Vine suffers from not being in the hustle & bustle of Northcote Road, and is an undiscovered gem for anyone venturing up St John's Hill. Their speciality is their fantastic selection of organic and biodiverse wine, of which they have an amazing selection, and a superb knowledge.

Being a few minutes walk, I've been in there fairly often since discovering it a few months ago. Coffees are cheap and good, and the service is fantastic. I've never tried the food, however.

Has free wifi, so one benefit of it being quiet is that there's always a comfy sofa to curl up in with a netbook...! I imagine that it'll be bustling come summer time though.
