ok as i suspected both my friend and myself saw our meal again that night and there wasn't much difference in taste. the only saving grace was that the waitor was absent. i went back to edgewater grill the next day and spoke to the manageress. she felt i was "hostile". really? i would have thought after a trip to the hospital and 12 hours of throwing up i would have been in a chipper mood! i was told to return in 2 days as "we can't refund cash, head office has to issue a cheque." i gave my name and number and left. 2 days later i returned and was given cash in an envelope. where was the cheque from head office you ask? i didn't care just so long as i never have to set foot in the place again. i did tell the manageress that http://yelp.com was full of terrible reviews. she said it wasn't. am i hallucinating? i could be but if i am it's from the sickness i got at edgewater grill. adios folks!

Sorry that this is going to be so long but I feel the need to make sure you all know just how appalling this place is.
So ,we walk in and a member of staff walks up to us smiling. I ask if we can have a table for 3 outside. The smile vanishes and she says " I don't do that. You need the hostess" and promptly walks away. The hostess then tells us there's a 15 minute wait for outdoor seats and begins to lead us to an indoor table. We stop her and tell her we'll wait for it. Quizical look, then shrug.
15 mins later we get our table. 2 minutes later i sense someone behind me and discover the dirtiest, most poorly dressed and groomed waiter, leaning on the back of my chair. He says " What do you want?"
We order and off he schlups. 20 minutes later we get our food. My fried shrimp was probably very nice about 10 minutes before they stopped cooking it but is now shrapnel. As are the fries. My friends "seafood medley" is less of a medley and more of a "solo". 2 clams, 2 shrimp and a piece of unidentifyable white fish does not a medley make!
The waiter became a little more friendly when he heard me say that I wouldn't be leaving a tip however it was not enough to stop him taking the $50 note for a $43 dollar bill and trying to walk away with the change. He was promptly stopped and I did recieve my change. It has been 4 hours since we ate and i think i may see my meal again before the night is out. Make no mistake i will be returning tomorrow when i'm able to move without feeling like throwing up, and i will be receiving a full refund. The manager will dread a glaswegian accent from this day forth.
Please folks, be kind to your digestive system and don't eat here.

we've eaten lunch outside in this place twice now and gone for an afternoon tipple 3 times. the waiting staff are always friendly and the measures are excellent. we've ordered the burgers which were very nice, and the kids pizza was brought to the table for my 6 year old to make himself (which he loved). i don't know what the place is like at night but i have no complaints. reasonably priced, well staffed and decent pub fayre. we have made this place our local while here. not haute cuisine but then it doesn't advertise itself to be.
