Firstly, tickets are super expensive, but it is a small chain. It is quite nice that they mostly show foreign movies though.
They serve wine and beer in the bar, which is a plus. BUT when you get into the theater there are no cup holders, which causes you to nurse your drink. Honestly, I've never been tempted by the fancy food options. I usually skip the bar downstairs, and sneak in a snack from the Waitrose though... shhh!

My large party of eight got very lucky getting a table amidst people who were still enjoying their after work drinks or early dinner. Though it was quite crowded our meals were served in a timely manner and everyone in our group had a great time. I was hoping that I would more impressed with the food, though I wouldn't say I was disappointed, being with great company in a comfortable space more than made up for it.

One of the things that bothered me most was their very inefficient pricing system. Can you believe they don't believe in bar codes? I bought a basket full of kitchenware and it took forever for them to punch in every code on the till.
Though I'm reluctant to come back, this location is very convenient. Holloway Road has other stores I frequent, such as Waitrose and Boots. That makes me give a little bit. But can ya work on the service thing for me Selby? PLEASE!
- I grew up in San Diego, 20 minutes away from the Mexican border.
- I have spent an infinite number of meals eating Mexican food from various restaurants all over California.
- On multiple occassions I have been invited to share meals with my Mexican friends and their families.
Relying on those facts my first impression of Wahaca is... it's not Mexican food. It's too expensive to be Mexican food. It's too fusion-ish. Which is fine, just don't come expecting "authentic" Mexican food.
And though my expectations weren't that high, they did okay and our food was pretty good. I like that they made their own sauces and everything is nice and warm when it comes to your table. I was sadly disappointed by the size of their street tacos though. Come on! They aren't even that small in Mexico! Admittingly, I would definitely come back because this is probably the closest I will get to anything resembling a "street taco."
I feel so guilty.
While I was out showing my friend the city, we walked by Gabriel's Wharf and I noticed the Pie Minister sign! How excited I got! What better way to introduce a friend to British cuisine than having a delicious pie made from all local ingredients? We snacked away at our hot pies, and I'm glad he was delightfully surprised at the deliciousness of a savory pie. I personally love that they use two different pastry for the top and bottom. The bottom is thick enough to hold all the contents without getting soggy, and the top pastry is light and flakey. Though you'll have to make your way through tons of tourist to get here, Pie Minister is a well deserved reward.
They usually sell their wares to caterers and restaurants, but are happy to let the general public in. My best option is to grab their catalog where I could leisurely peruse and compare the prices and products of anything from knives to chef hats. Discounts are also offered on some multiple buys, though it's doubtful that the common household needs 6 sauce boats.

I especially love this Muji because it's not as crowded as their other stores since it's on a smaller street and all the people who work there are extra nice. I recently got some furniture delivered by ordering in store. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I'm always happy with all my Muji purchases.

But you gotta work on a larger indie comics shelf... I own about 95% of everything you have on there already...
Clearly, it's you, not me.

They are now also doing one Golden Ticket show a week meaning a movie that only costs... £1! Yes. £1. Sometimes it's quite a surprise.
When a movie that looks interesting to me comes out (not anything I'm dying to see), I like to wait a few weeks to see if it will make it to the PCC. Sometimes they do. Sometimes they don't. But I've rarely been devastated from it. Then I gladly buy my discounted membership ticket, munch on some home-made cookies, and sit back and relax in their comfy new leather chairs.
