I went to Bodega today for the first time. We were supposed to be eating Brunch, but the person who accepted the booking didn't inform the lady who made the booking that there would be no brunch because of Winterlicious, despite being asked to confirm that a brunch menu would be available.

Luckily, their Winterlicious menu looked good. I ordered the Beet Salad, the Grilled Salmon & the Banana Cake.

The Beet salad was very good & the seasoning was perfect.

The Grilled salmon was nice, but there was very little sauce and a lot of lentils, which made it an average dish. (I tried the beef that my partner had ordered and it was pretty good.)

The Banana cake with Toffee sauce was ok. It was too sweet and rich for my liking.

The portions were good & overall the food was a 3.5 stars.

The reason I am giving it 2 stars is that the service wasn't great. It took the staff about 20 minutes to take our order. We were the first people in the restaurant and were a large group. At the time we were seated there was nobody else in there.

I had to leave early for a play and so went to our server and asked her to give me a bill for my portion. She told me it wasn't easy to get my bill because it was a group and that's how the software worked and that it would take her a couple of minutes to print it out. Nearly 10 minutes later, I was still standing there, waiting for her to get my bill while she passed by me several times and went to other tables.

I realise that the place was busy, but 10 minutes to get the bill for someone who has told them that they have to catch a play, is just ridiculous. There was also no apology and finally someone from our group volunteered to pay my bill and asked me to pay her back later.

I will definitely avoid Bodega. While the food is not bad, the service clearly needs improvement.

Discovered this through Yelp on my iPhone and I am SO glad I did. After being seriously disappointed by the supposedly awesome Salad King (TERRIBLE FOOD ALERT!!) I was glad I tried Pi Toms.

I had the Lunch Combo 11:
Hot & Sour Soup
Chuchee fish & Rice.

It came up to about $13 and was just DELICIOUS!

I will be trying the branch closer to my apartment as soon as possible.

Julia, who runs the place, is very friendly and knows her job. She's also very flexible with appointment times and you can usually get one on short notice.

This is the only place I go to for a Brazilian wax. It's extremely clean, the wax used is the hard wax, which makes it less painful.

As someone who grew up in Mumbai and has been constantly disappointed at various Indian restaurants across North America, it was such a pleasant surprise to find Indian food here that was as nearly 100% as good as the food back home.

Our favourite things here are the Samosas, the Lamb chops, the okra and the eggplant.
I generally don't eat meat, but the Lamb chops here are just irresistible.

The service is excellent.

It is a little pricey, but it's worth it.

Vegetarian food with real options for vegetarians! Huh!
Everything we ordered was perfectly flavoured and seasoned. Fresh & tasty with prices that were just right.

The only thing I didn't enjoy was the Avocado shake. But my friend loved it, so I guess it's subjective.

Moe's is ok for when you don't have the time or energy to haul yourself to Kensington Market for more authentic Mexican stuff.

I usually order the vegetarian Burrito bowl and most of the time, the ingredients are fresh. The service is friendly, the prices are ok.

It's a couple of notches above the Taco Bells of the world.

I don't know why this place has such great reviews. We ate there last night for the first ( and possibly the last) time and it was underwhelming and greasy. It could have been a bad day - they were really crowded because of the winter solstice celebrations but I don't know if I want to go back and verify this.
It was super cheap though.
We had the vegetarian empanadas. There was a minuscule bowl of salsa accompanying it.
We've had much better luck with other South American restaurants in the area.

Wow! This place has the best chilli garlic eggplant - ever! And the Spicy fish?! ZOMG!
A Chinese friend recommended this place and when we went we were the only non-Asians in the restaurant.
The quantities are huge and the prices are affordable.
Will be going back many many times!

My favourite things at Le Gourmand are the weekend brunches and the Chocolate bombs. The service is always friendly and they try to accommodate any special needs.

I just wish they had more vegetarian options for dinner. I know they say they do, but other than salads and wraps, there are no real vegetarian choices.

The food here is kinda meh & I always wondered why it got such rave reviews.
It's not really authentic & is just another joint trying to pass off as 'real' Indian food.
