Staff does not wear masks and ailed are too narrow to avoid them. Not a safe place to shop during the pandemic.
The ladies at the checkout are rude, avoid eye contact, let you wait while they chat in the phone etc.
During the pandemic, the staff cannot be bothered to wear masks. I just went there and passed 6 staff members, 5 if which were not wearing a mask at all or not wearing it properly (eg under their chin, not covering their nose). Behavior like this is the reason the pandemic is not under control. I will not shop there again - it is not safe.
I got delivery through UberEats, and was really underwhelmed.
Half of my order was missing and the chicken was really dry. I am also not a fan of having to order a beverage to be able to order a main. I don't need a $2 can of coke when eating my takeout meal at home.
I can't agree with all the negative reviews I see here. I think the layout of the place was changed a while ago, so it feels less cramped. It's also quite clean.
The veggies are usually fresh, and they make their own kimchi which is very good and pretty much the reason I shop there. There is a little "bakery" section where you can grab fresh buns and Banh mi.
I can't judge the freshness of the fish and meat because I haven't tried them, but both counters seem always very busy, and the place doesn't smell as much like fish as many other Asian grocery stores with a fresh fish counter.
I decided to eat out for the first time since the start of the pandemic, so I was full of anticipation and expectations when I went to Pho Lien to get my first Pho fix of 2020.
Sadly the patio and dining room were closed, so take out was the only option. I ordered the smallest No 1 Pho Dac Biet.
The service was quick and friendly, but the soup was just ok. The broth was a little bland and oily. Instead of Thai basil, the garnish had cilantro. That's not a good substitution IMO. Overall the garnish was a bit skimpy - very little onions and a teeny tiny lime wedge. Noodles and meat were fine. The portion was huge, and I got very stuffed and wasn't even able to finish.
Overall, I prefer Sen Vang, where the broth has a more distinct taste of star aniseed and cloves, and I get my basil.
