Coffee Corner
Categories: Coffee & Tea, Sandwiches
Neighbourhood: Stoke Newington Central
I had lived in Stokie for three years and not found this place, then I move down the road and came across it on my way to the gym. It is a lovely little gem, really great sandwiches and salads. Nothing fancy about this place, it does get really busy at lunchtime with local Stokie people - lots of prams - but that doesn't take away from its charm.
This is a fun little bar in central London. They do a great happy hour with 2for1 cocktails. I have always arrived here early doors but I imagine it gets pretty busy and there are not many places to sit so you may end up standing in the middle of the room. The bar staff do lark about a little bit but they are friendly which is more than I can say for many of the bars in Central.

The Bagel House
Category: Bagels
Neighbourhood: Stoke Newington Central
The Bagel House does the best salt beef bagels I have ever had. Piled high with deliciously juicy meat and then covered with mustard and all for £2.85. Much cheaper and tastier than the Brick Lane bagel shops & cafes.
The best thing is it is open 24 hours so it has become my new late night feast on the way home from a night out.
They also do lots of fresh bread, cakes and other bagel fillings.

Rasa Vegetarian
Categories: Indian, Vegetarian
Rasa is my favourite Indian restaurant. I have not always been a fan of Indian meals, having a sensitivity to some of the spices, so have always been a bit reluctant to venture into Indian restaurants.
Rasa however was a totally different experience. When I moved into the area a couple of years ago I wandered Church street checking the menus at the abundance of restaurants. Rasa stood out to me with some delicious sounding dishes.
My boyfriend was the reluctant one this time being a big meat eater but after our first visit he was converted. I can never decide what I want because it all sounds so good so we always share a selection of dishes, all at very reasonable prices. We always get greedy though and end up with far too much.
The best thing is you leave feeling wonderfully full of deliciously flavoured, wholesome and healthy food.
