This place has absolutley stunning food. The duck ... oh my god!!! melt in your mouth toptastic. The reason however that it gets only 2 stars is that the service is pretty appaulling. The three times I have been I have hoped that the previous time was just a bad day... but each time the wait to be served, the wait to be fed and the wait for the bill has been ponky!

I will go back as it is next door to where I work and the duck is just amazing! I really hope that it gets better

I exhibited at Showcase in August and found it a really good way to begin to get my art 'out there' in this huge city! when I lived in san Francisco the access and acceptance for emerging artists was huge .. in London I find it restricting. Most galleries take ridiculous comissions or charge silly amounts. Showcase is different. They charge the artist £25 per panel, each artist having a maximum of three panels and take no comission. It is only on for an evening but happens every other Wednesday. Loads of people came, the buzz was lovely and it finished up at around 11.30pm.

Totally recommend to artists looking for somewhere to show and art lovers looking fora diverse mixture of Eclectic art work from photography - design and oils to watercolour.

There are usually between 20 -30 artists ahowing.

I really like this cafe. It has a very chilled, slightly disorganised feel about it....I exhibited at an Art Exhibition that happens every other Wednesday ( Showcase - see separate review!) and found the staff really helpful and smiley, the very cold magners a delight and the chocolate cake just scrumptious!

What a terrible experience! I had invited a group of friends to an Art exhibition that I was exhibiting in and a curry. I have always had a good experience on Brick Lane and thought that Popadoms looked great. They tempted my friends in with 2 free drinks and they sat down. there were about 10 of us but it took the waiter 45 minutes to take the order, we then waited for 45 minutes for the food. When it arrived it was luke warm. The restaurant was quite busy but not crazily so. The waiter was rude, got the drinks order wrong and then had a go at us for it.
Never again!

I have been coming to Webster Whiteman for my waxing needs since returning from San Francisco at the beginning of 2008. The beautician here is lovely. Suzie is pretty new but since she arrived I have still been very happy with the service provided. She always makes me feel very comfortable and does a brilliant job!

They have monthly offers too ... one month it may be a discount .. another month it may be a free massage ... ooooh and they are open til 9 on a Thursday!

    Totally recommend!

I love the experience of this place .... down stairs it is buzzy and fll of people chatting and laughing .. drinking and canooodling ... upstairs is quieter .... dimmed lighting .... almost romantic.

If i compare it to a mexican in the US, it isnt there yet ... if I put it in its own little box .. its scrummy! I always have a Chicken Burrito with extra sour cream on the side .. the rice is perfect and the guac delish! wash it down with a lovely strong Margheritta and WHA WHA WHAAA!

I totally recommend eating here... its fun, its different, the service is quick but not too quick and the music is cool plus the prices are reasonable.

Imagine ..... soft, silky, black ........ gently and smoothly caressing your throat at each sip .... mmmmmm! Now get your mind out of the gutter! Im talking about the Guinness.

The Toucan was my local for 5 years and we used to go most nights. The place is small! and the toilets leave something to be desired .. but then you take a sip of the heavenly black stuff and all those small points fade into oblivion.

I still go when I can and it will always have a place in my heart!

I went here a while back with the big boss .... it was good. I wanted to go somewhere a little bit sexy but not too up its own arse. It was a little bit old style .. Not up to the standard of  Maze or Claridges but each course was tasty ... I had the foie Gras to start which was just melt in the mouth delish, My boss had the fried oysters and was egually satisfied.... the courses continued to be wonderful washed down with a scrummy red. Overall happy just feel like it was a little corporate..... but fitted the purpose.

Based in Chancery Lane I frequent Lincolns Inn Fields whenever the sun comes out, taking my lunch and basking in the sun. It is always buzzing and you can even play tennis at lunch if you book the courts.

It is lovely to have such a large outdoor space so close to where I work.
