There is something quite special about moving to the country and making an aquaintance with the locals. The first time we went in, it was a little Royston Vasey but as the times have gone by we have been made to feel more and more welcome.
Sue and Colin that run it are sweet and Chris who sometimes works behind the bar is a gem.
They have beer festivals a few times a year with fab hog roasts and fine ales.
Steak nights on a friday with local steak ....
and ...
wait for it ...
Dominos!!!! I hear you snort .. but after a few beers on a week night..there is nothing better than supping and playing dominos.. highly competitive!
They have a facebook page ... come check them out ! http://www.facebook.co...
There are some great walks. you can park up, enjoy a lovely long walk in the country and then get all cosy .. inside or out, and enjoy the feast of a menu or choice at the bar.
The roast is amazing and they serve all day until 9pm on a Sunday. There are lots of tables so plenty of space. A gorgeous garden and even a conservatory dining area.
We really enjoyed this on Sunday ... little hangovers ... great peaople watching, hair of the dog and filling our bellys.
Im looking forward to going again!

Having recently moved out of the hustle and bustle of London and buying a house in the rural, pretty, Otford near Sevenoaks, it was lovely to pop into this bar for a pint of bitter and glass of wine! resonably priced with some pretty amazing fireplaces this was a delight. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was chilled and the drinks were flowing. good to know we have a fine little local!

What Happened?
We visited here last night and after a truly crappy service didn't even end up eating. So what happened ?
We we were on our way to see the Editors in Brixton. We thought the perfect way to prepare ourselves for lots of Brixton lager was to fill our bellies with delicious fish or sausage and batter and chips ( I don't eat fish...). so we rocked up ..decided to eat in and waited ... and waited ..we were then served , one rock and chips and 2 sausage in batter and chips with extra beans ..mmmmmmmmmm yums! The place was in a certain degree of chaos which should have been a warning sign. so anyways .. we waited ...... and waited ... the queue of take away was been served immediately ...they were getting there food straight away and wandering off to enjoy .... we were left ... the take away purchasers kept coming and walking away with their hands full. By this time it was getting late .. we were close to missing the editors if we had to wait much longer. I politely asked the waitress ( not a smile in sight) how much longer it might be as we had already let them know when we sat down that we needed to be somewhere and were assured that it would be a quick service. She responded with 'its coming now' ..so we waited ...and waited a bit longer ....still the take aways being handed out .... other people in the cafe being served ..not us ... so I asked again ...only to hear her declare to the kitchen people that table 1 was complaining .. i wasn't even complaining .. just asking as she had told me it was coming now 10 minutes ago .... so a place of cod and chips was put in front of me ...hmmm i'm sorry ,i think this is not for us .. we ordered one rock and chips and 2 sausage and chips .. so the guy huffed and took it away ..coming back to let us know that the Rock was taking a bit longer as was fresh ... he said he could bring the sausage over anyway ..lovely we thought ..starving by this point and rather late! ....
So he reappeared with one sausage in batter and chips with a bit of very greasy battered fish dumped on the top ...' you can have the fish for free as you have been waiting so long he declared' .... Im sorry but as someone who doesn't like fish, someone who was hungry and fed up with the way that we had been treated so far ..that did it. 'im sorry' i replied, 'but I dont eat fish' he went ahead and removed the fish from my plate with his fingers ...touching my chips in process ..leaving a lovely pool of grease on the plate and put it back in the cabinate ... that did it .. we needed to remove ourselves from the situation so left.
Now there are a couple of things to say ... if this was a chippy that was selling fish and chips for 5 quid, i probably would have let it go ... but these guys charge 10 to eat in ... in my book that is an expensive fish and chips and expect some sort of service, even if its just to be notified when i order that Rock takes longer to cook .. not to be told when I sit down that they would be able to do our order quickly.\
I will never go back here. Neither will the people I was with. Really disappointed as they used to be so good and I was so looking forward to some scrummy sausage in batter and chips ....

No.20 Restaurant
Category: Modern European
Neighbourhood: Soho
After trawling through the deals on TopTable I found No.20. The deal was 2 courses and a glass of bubbly for 15 pounds ... bargin I thought!
We were not disappointed. Walking through the sexy doors to the hotel, we were welcomed and shown to the restaurant that was elegant and sopho but also buzzing. The service was fabulous! having being seated , and a large glass of bubbly placed in fount of us we were shown the offer menu .. it was limited choice but still fab. We both had spinach and butternut squash salad to start, the dressing was delicious. I then had lamb for main ..it was cooked to perfection and although not a huge portion, thoroughly satisfying. My friend had pasta with marscepone and parmasan ... this wasnt quite so good but with a bit of extra seasoning did the job.
The toilets in this place are gorgeous!
Would recommend!
I was here for a work seminar .. the rooms were stunning .. victorian baths and walk in showers , heated floors and the sweetest little balcony on the lake.
The staff were wonderful, the Guinness was so smooth and creamy, the food in the restaurant and the wine delish.
I wish I had been their with my beau as it was dead romantic!
About an hours drive from Dublin.
Just lovely xxx
They wrap the pressies gloriously and are always happy yo make suggestions and help ... my cousin just got a tool belt with beautifully made wooden tools ... really good stuff! Love it!

As well as the content this place as the most gorgeous stunning, inspiring and mesmerising building. Walking into the main lobby I was in awe as I stood just staring at the ceiling... beautiful.
If you are interested in History, collections, artifacts, learning .. this is the place to come! It's free, it's awesome and It's fun!
This Wagamamas is one of the better ones. Situated off the main road in Holborn means that it is generally not as crazy busy as some of the others and the service is genuinely pretty good.
The biggest issue that I have is not having food served at the same time .. not a problem if you have dont mind your food going cold or love having a very hungry person opposite insist you start and then drooooooling and slapping their lips while they wait.
The food is great - I cannot complain at all. The portions are fab too. I usually have chilli ad garlic edamame and Chicken Katsu curry.. mmm.
If you are there on a weekend or a day off .. or you are just having some fun in town ..why not visit the British Museum after ... it's brilliant!

Goats cheese tart with the most delectably sensational tomatoes and stunning basil coulis ..... lordy
Gets better ....... Succulent, saucy, huge, orgasmically satisfying lamb chops ........ mint peas on the side ..... gooooooooodneessssss me! The portion size was fabulous!
I cannot fault a thing. even the price was reasonable for the experience. (reasonable in a posh restaurant sense).
Really impressed. Will defo go again to treat someone or myselfor just for a special girly afrernoon tea.... it really is a treat.
And we got to eat by Hugh Edwards ...... i mean ... not every day you get to sit next to a welsh news reader! ;)
