Viva is a true neighborhood gem! The flavors are consistent and bright, food always tasty and prices are fair. SO and I are working our way down the menu and have enjoyed our fajitas, enchiladas, tacos and more. Dishes are made fresh, served up quickly and the homemade tortillas are clutch.
We love Viva, every meal there is a treat.
This is one of the few 8th Ave driving schools with an English speaking instructor on staff, which is why I chose LADS. I wish I hadn't, as the front desk woman Lilly is rude and derisive, especially with my mediocre Chinese skills. The English speaking driving instructor, Jack, follows her lead, treating every question and ask with condescension. His instructions are confusing and treated every ask for clarification as argumentative. His awful teaching manner made me feel small and stupid.
Stay away if you value your sanity or well being.
Having walked by Matthew's multiple times and seen a packed restaurant, SO and I had to try out Matthew's when the brunch mood struck. We loved the cute decor and beautiful plates but the brunch aftermath left a bad taste in our mouths, and lingering nausea in our stomachs.
Cold drinks were served in mason jars (my favorite!) though the burnt and/or overwatered drinks threw us off. Bf loved his hearty plate of lemon ricotta berry pancakes and I enjoyed my sweet potato and sausage hash (great recommendation by the waiter!). Brunch would've been great if we had stopped there.
Being hungry, we also opted for the truffle waffle fries, because who can resist fries?!
We should've, as the fries gave us both the runs in a few short hours, along with cramps and chills that evening and kept me from working the day after.
Despite cute decor and otherwise tasty meal, I cannot recommend Matthew's. Eat at your own risk!
Was craving pizza for lunch today and Casa Theodoro delivered, both literally and figuratively!
I couldn't choose between 2 flavors and opted for the small half and half pizza, which thoroughly satisfied my craving. The eggplant parm was tasty though the prosciutto arugula really knocked it out of the park. Generous pieces of prosciutto drizzled with a sweet balsamic, I had to work to not polish off the whole thing. Crust is lightly toasted, bit doughy, very tasty.
Also ordered a flan which I'll dig into for dinner.
Longtime fan, first time reviewer of Mama's Empanadas. I placed a big order last month and the empanadas were just as good as I remember. Notable bites of chicken, viagra and fig/cheese, all deliciousness that left my mouth and stomach happy. Loved being able to choose between baked or fried, though being charged an extra $.10 for baked quickly added up.
They were generous with the green sauce, and I got a couple more to add onto everything I eat. Can't wait to order from here again!
