Dee’s 5-star review:
I knew about BbyB thanks to the New York Times article "36 Hours in Brugge." After having salivated over their website for weeks, I was very excited to finally find the store. It is a rather radical departure from most chocolate shops in Belgium, which seem a bit old-fashioned/old school and even sometimes a bit stuffy. This place is stark black and white with splashes of color - very modern. These chocolates do not come cheaply. I splurged and bought several of their small boxes, each costs 5 Euros. The saleswoman was also putting together bags of Easter eggs, and I caved and bought one of those. Of the three different Easter eggs, I particularly enjoyed the white chocolate and passion fruit combo, as well as the caramel and dark chocolate combo. I have not yet sampled any of the boxes I bought, but my friend did offer me a piece of her white chocolate with strawberry and basil -- and I absolutely regret not picking up a box of those! Absolutely fantastic (and I'm typically not a huge fan of white chocolate). Basically, if you are a chocoholic, I highly suggest finding BbyB when in Brugge!!!
