Zazu's Kitchen on North Street is great option for breakfast and lunch. I popped along today for lunch, and was pleased to see that they run a brunch menu until 3pm which includes their delicious merguez and scrambled eggs which I've tried and tested several times, and wholeheartedly recommend. Today, however was a different affair, and I fancied testing out their lunch menu.
Sitting out side in the sun, the trendy plastic chairs are actually really comfortable. I ordered a pulled pork bap, which came served with summer slaw, french fries, salad and a home made ketchup. The fries were actually potato, with the skins on the edges and extremely delicious, none of this fry from the bag nonsense - or at least if they were they didn't taste like it. And the pulled pork, although it could have done with a little more flavour, was tasty.
All in all a great lunch, and reasonably priced too.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chrissy E.Stoke Gifford, South Gloucestershire912166 Jan 2015
I think the Zazu's venues are in the running for the best places for brunch in bristol. Seriously, this place is built for brunch!! Their soya cappuccino was the best I've had in a long while. The option I went for was a special of black pudding and chorizo hash with poached eggs and hollandaise. It was luscious!! You can add or remove items from your order easily and at a reasonable cost. Loved it!

Been to this place in other incarnations but finally, they have got it right. Simple classic decor, fantastic friendly service and wonderful food. Exactly what you want for a restaurant, love the late brunch menu option. I went for a beef burger, just perfect, husband had steak ciabatta, wonderful to see steak cooked perfectly and my son had a bacon bap, I had a nibble and the bacon was super nom. This could be be new naughty breakfast venue for days I want to spoil myself

We dropped in here quite late on a Friday night and were really impressed by the restaurant. The look was really appealing - fresh and simple - with an open kitchen where you could watch the chefs at work and lovely wood furniture.
The menu was so good, it took us a long time to decide what to have. There was an emphasis on local and seasonal - you could tell the menu changed regularly. Luckily there were 3 of us, so there was lots of trying each other's dishes going on. The place was bustling, but not oppressively so. And the chat from the staff was great.
Only one slightly negative point - while it's nice to be in a busy restaurant, the disadvantage is that a small toll was taken on the speed of service. Once the food started to come out, there was no delay between courses. But there was an initial lull, in which we drank a whole bottle of wine and had to order another! Which would have been fine had there been some nibbles. As it happened, bottle of wine + empty tummies = silliness.
Not that that will stop me going again. I passed by the next day, and the place was busy for its lunch time service - so a good indicator of its popularity.
3 courses - 3 people - 2 bottles of wine - about £120 - a total bargain for the quality!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
