Great roast diner! Really delicious and enough for a good eater.
Price also brilliant
A brewers fayre with history isn't something you often find, but believe it or not, where this place now is, it used to be a school! It's now a brewers fayre which means reasonable food at reasonable prices. I wouldn't say this is a place to go if you want really good food, but if you want ordinary pub grub and a menu that's the same no matter which of the chain you go in (as you get with mcdonalds etc.) then this place will suit you. The food is good standard english fayre with no flares and no fuss. You get a good meal for your money in a decent atmosphere.
As a pub, it's OK. Nice and quiet (very quiet) in the evening. As a restaurant, the carvery is very popular with families. The carvery is the only food they do. It's very, very cheap, and you definitely get what you pay for.
An excellent family carvery. Set in a wonderful old house with plenty of grounds (immaculately kept) for the kids to run around in, a large play area and outside picnic tables. The house itself is old, and has a lovely quaint feel as they have kept the original shape of the rooms. The food is lovely, with a choice of Turkey, Gammon and Beef (you can have all 3!!!) and a veggie options, you help yourselg to the veg including lovely roast potatoes, new potatoes and at least 4-5 other veg along with yorkshire pudding and stuffing. The meat is always very tender and given generously. The thing I really must comment on is the price during the week it is only £3.99, no really it is, seriously i am not kidding £3.99 per person!!! At the weekend and (i think friday nights not sure) it is £6.50 per person, still very economical. They have a starter menu as well (for extra) I really do recommend the Mushrooms to die for, also the Chicken tikka is very nice and comes with little popadoms. The desserts are also very reasonable the most expensive being a share for two chocolate ice cream dessert for approx £3.99. The drinks are the same price you would get in other pubs but the value for money during the week on the carvery meal cannot be missed, they have another one of these at the other side of Milton Keynes; Pear Tree Bridge, we have been to both restaruants and thet are the same so I won't bore you all with the same review twice!
get what you pay for !! my partner lives in mk wanted to tryit so we did!! hot food great prices beef bit tough but value for money to be honest ! :) thankyou crown carveries
I go here at least 3 times a month, I have also had an excellent breakfast here a few weeks ago. The meat is always cooked to perfection and the vedge plentiiful and varied. The staff are friendly and the price is amazing, I give this carvery a 100 out of a 100.
I go there a lot it's a nice carvery the food is cheep the that beer it's more about the in these carvery pub's if you just pop in for a drink there's not a lot of room in side
