Cheap store for all you household things.
It is not on Armada Way as stated here but on Mayflower Street in the Armada Centre.
Staff was also very talkative and friendly and they play music like in a pub (which is a little strange but does not bother me).
It is perfect for students just moving to Plymouth to find cheap things for the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, everything...
One of my favourite stores in Plymouth, Wilkinsons is stuffed full of well priced items that cover all categories. Particularly good for Christmas, the only down side is there's always a cue at the till, and the staff are pretty de-motivated.
If you ever need anything, check here first. The bike repair kit I almost paid £10 for in Argos was in here (different brand but same stuff) for £6 the set, or £3.50 if you bought the bits separately. The downside is you can never really tell what's going to be in there, as they change their stock a lot.
Wilkinson in Plymouth is situated in the Armada centre, which is located centrally in Plymouth, near to the main sainsburys. I think the main attraction of this place is you can buy a lot of varied things, and it not only sells cosmetics, but also house hold things such as washing powder, plants, gardening stuff. I find the staff are a little unfriendly at times, more so noticeable when very busy. The queues are often long, but will soon go down as there are many tills open. I think this shop is good if you want to stop by for a bargin, but you tend to have to go out the way to go there.
A good discount store with a huge range of products. You need to have a good look around here as they sell lots of different things and the stock changes regularly. Prices are very good and you can pick up some great bargains although be careful - Dont assume everything is cheaper here- I have seen somethings more expensive than Sainsbury which is situated above it. Interaction with the staff is limited with most of them working on the tills and queues can be quite long at the weekends. This store is very big and easy to move around with plenty of space between the isles. Ideal for cheap everyday items or small gifts.
This place is conisdered a little lower class, but dont worry everyone who says that you are almost guranteed to bump into them in there. Wilkos has everything you need and is especially really good for wash stuff, pet goods and general household bits like plates, pans and bowls. Thhe likeere own brand stuff is similar to the likes of tesco value but there is not much price difference to the main stream goods.
Bargain central for all your household wares - not the most enjoyable shopping experience but the staff are usually pretty helpful. Only problem is getting your stuff back to the car afterwards as you have to leave the trolley behind so no point in buying the heavy stuff.
lots of bargains on a wide variety of items from domestic products to frames and pet food etc. the staff are usually very busy as is the shop but friendly and helpful the prices also good.
Although the shop can seem a bit messy and the queues can be very long the prices are really good. When I have been in there hasn't been many, if any staff to ask questions but the ones I have come across were friendly and helpful. The food stocked isn't necessarily cheaper than local supermarkets, so it's worth checking. After special occaisions ie halloween, christmas etc they have good sales, often reducing seasonal items to 20p.
