Wilkinsons is large store that sells pretty much everything you need in the home (bar furniture and white goods) for reasonable prices.
It covers two floors and has both a lift and escalators, should the lift be out of order, both floors can be accessed at street level thanks to Bradford's wonderful vertical geography.
The downstairs floor is smaller. Here you will find books, the stationery department and a few seasonal racks. Upstairs is pretty much everything else. Toys, toiletries, bedding, paint etc. It even has a section for pre-packed sandwiches.
It does get quite busy and you can expect to queue at the tills on either floor but the staff are friendly, helpful and competant.
This is a general store with plenty of choice and reasonable prices. It does have lift access although it is not guarnteed that this would be working. The shop itself is clean but can be untidy at times.
It does get quite busy in here but you can find some very good bargins.
The staff are friendly although it can be hard to find them when you need them.
This shop is good for that last minute shop.
This is a huge walkabout store with 2 floors. downstairs there is a huge selection of sweets, cards, gift wrap, crafts, cdrs, folders, photo albums and stuff for you. There is also a pick and mix of sweets. Upstairs there are the usual like toiletries, pet stuff, car stuff, photo frames, food items, gardening supplies, etc. They sell more or less anything you could possible need from bakeware to wallpaper and paint. they have a cooler that has a small selection of sandwiches and wraps and soft drinks which are nice and fresh. The store is large and spacious and there is a lift between floors or escalators. The staff are nice and friendly but there isnt enough of them. They have a cashpoint upstairs near the entrance too and a lift to get out from. The doors are fully automatic which is a plus too. Very decent prices too.
This place is relatively new to Bradford but it's proven dead handy for me. It sells, well, pretty much everything. There have been times when I've needed to grab a light fitting or other bits for the house and they have always had what I needed. The prices are decent enough, won't break the bank but not that cheap at the same time. I guess the only negative on this place is that some of the staff are less helpful than others. I once had to ask 3 different members of staff to help me find something but I got there in the end.
Wilko's is a low priced homewares shop specialising in cleaning, kitchen, DIY, car and art supplies with random things like beauty, baby, toys and gifts, and even foods thrown in. It is pretty low priced but shop around as the pound shop can often beat it on bargains. But generally it is considered to be a bargain shop and there is plenty to choose between. It is the only shop in Bradford I can think of where you can buy a bag of compost a pint of milk and some hair dye at the same time! The staff are nice and friendly and with two floors of bargains you will find something I'm sure- well worth a visit.
