9:22pm for £3.50 I purchase a waffle lathered with blueberry compote and whipped cream.
9:23pm and several steps down the street my face is full of hot waffle, cream and blueberry compote. In my eagerness to shovel as much of the sweet creamy waffliness into my face, I grunt and snuffle against the paper plate completely devoid of any human etiquette. Like a wild boar I continue to shove the goodness into my mouth.
9:25pm The remnants of the waffle are being licked from my fingers, I turn wide-eyed and drooling to Sarah S's half eaten cherry and cream topped waffle. Drool runs like the Thames down my chin. It takes all my will power not to knock the waffle from her hand so I can become a real pig and eat snorting and spitting from the ground. I tell you I could drop my waffle in sh*t, I'd clean off the sprinkles, hold it momentarily up to God and eat it.
Tonight someone licked my face, clearing it of whipped cream and drooled profusely while I tried to sort out the mass of toppings I'd lost to my hands and undersized foam plate.
The waffle place was the perfect end-of-the-evening indulgence, after beers and live tunes, who can say no to dessert. The waffles were being made right in front of my eyes, the toppings were plentifully placed and the price was reasonable for it's Oxford street location.
While I was not left dying for a second helping, the waffles were definitely drool worthy even though I had to nosh street side (where no one judged me for my lack of cutlery usage.)
LOVE THOSE WAFFLES!
When I visited Belgium, I got a taste for fun waffles with interesting toppings. Made hot and fresh with all the traditional toppings, I have to stop myself from simply indulging every day.
Lovely waffles which are made freshly in the shop. I had an orginal waffle with hoky poky ice cream and it was divine. The waffle was still warm so the scoop of ice
cream just melted right on top of the waffle.
Also it was quite filling so it was worth the full £3.50 I paid for it.
You guys in London are lucky that you have places like this all over. We don't have anything like this in the US. Every time I come out to visit, I have to make a stop at the first stand I see. This place just so happens to be out by all of the major shopping.
This place makes real waffles. They have one with chocolate in it that is really lovely. Its a rare gem to find on Oxford street and the smell when you walk pass it is lovely. No one should be able to resists the smells of a good waffle. I bet a lot of people has walked passed this shop but never noticed it or seen it but never thought it would be any good. If that is you, you should go try it out. It is delicious. You can also get icr-creams and smoothies to a hot cup of coffee.
Really Delicious waffles! Especially one with Belgian chocolate and red cherries, very good. Clean store and friendly staff, worth metioning, makes enjoy the food even more.
I was on Oxford Street on Saturday to do my Christmas shopping:) and i was passing by The Waffle Place, the place was very busy but the smell of their waffles was just irresistible, so i queued to buy one, Waffle with Belgian Chocolate and Stwaberries. I've never tasted Belgian waffles before, all I can say, I loved it, it was really yammy:) and I will be there again next week:)
Rude and totally bad service - reminded me of purewaffle. Burnt waffle - yeah great place!
