The W H Smith at the Gyle is one of the biggest stores in Edinburgh. You can find everything from a cheap sweet to computer games and books.
The staff on the tills always give a smile and let you know what is on offer at the till in case you were interested. Usually half price sweets or a cheaper book, yes it increases sales, however they can always be handy gifts!
They have a huge selection of magazines and you can also order specific ones in if they don't stock them, or can get items held aside if needed too.
There is a large entertainment section up the back and there is usually plenty of offers available too.
This WhSmith is a bit of a jack of all trades. It has a lot of magazines and stationery but not a huge selection of books and those that they have are fairly standard and pricy.
They have a lot of promotions on and seem to be relying heavily on hard-back buyers as many of their chart titles are heavily discounted but this doesn't really entice me to buy them.
The books are situated at the back to the right and, unless you knew where to look and wanted a chart title then I wouldn't recommend them. Supermarkets do the same types of offers all the time.
