I cannot even think of another cinema within a 10 mile radius so purely on convenience alone, this VUE gets 3 stars.
I have never had a bad experience here and have quite enjoyed its placement near Pizza Express for Orange's 2-for-1 Wednesday deal.

A cheap, convenient, enjoyable date night for half price? YES PLZ!
They have the latest movies and a nice selection of pickamix sweets.
What more could you want?
This Vue cinema is great, you can either buy your tickets downstairs from a dedicated ticket desk, or go up some escalators and buy your tickets with your popcorn, or you also have the choice of buying them online and collecting them from a ticket machine.
In the main lobby, you have a Ben & Jerry's stand from where you can get some yummy ice cream, next to the stand they have a selection of pick and mix. The lobby looks nice, but is always pretty busy during the evenings so I suggest getting there early. As Paul mentioned there is a lack of food, but to be honest there aren't many cinemas that do a huge range. As this is near a shopping complex there are a few places you can go to eat.
I am a huge popcorn fan, and Vue does do tasty popcorn. The screens are good and the seats are comfortable, this Vue is great to watch any film =)
I once wrote to Vue Management to complain about Vue in Romford. The seats were soaked in God-knows what, the screens were covered in mess, there was popcorn everywhere, the projector was projecting wrong, there were balloons randomly in the theatre blocking the top corner of the screen. Their response was at least honest; "Unfortunately, due to the clientele in Romford it is difficult for us to maintain a consistently high quality" - and I believe them.
The Vue in Romford is decent as Multiplexes go; but the problem comes when you find lots of kids who'd rather text each other across the room and make random turrets type noises than watch a movie. We used to avoid this by going to screenings at 11pm. But we found that although the kids were gone, their mess wasn't. I complained a much of times and to be fair to them, I got a few free tickets-- but it got to the point where I'd rather pay to go somewhere else and not have to sit on someones unwanted popcorn.
Cinematically; the films are presented well; good sound and good size screens; but often you'll find coke splashed on screens or my biggest problem; holes in the screen (meaning shiny bright sparkling areas). A cinema that tries to be good but doesn't quite pull it off. Go elsewhere.
I visit the Vue on a regular basis, you do get the odd disturbance from the younger generation, but generally it has been good.
There is however a seriuos lack of choice in the food dept, if you take children, then expect them to be eating sweets and junk food, its a case of hot dog or nachos, other than that its all sweets and popcorn (ice cream on the top floor too), id like to see hamburgers (the decent kind not mcDonalds there is a mcDonalds downstairs for those people)
maybe they could do some pastas or salads, if someone is going to sit in a cinema munching through crunchy nachos or noisy popcorn, then let the healthier people eat pasta.
That said its a great little venue.
A great cinema, very comfortable seats, huge screens with a wide selection of films and events including world cinema, music performances and subtitled movies. Cheap Tuesdays means you can get discounted tickets with a members card. Staff are always friendly and will often offer free posters. You can but tickets from any till here so ques are not normally a problem.
I don't take a trip to the cinema much these days but when I fancy going to watch a movie Vue Romford is a decent cinema with a good variety of films on show to pick from. The food is a bit pricey, but then again cinema usually is expensive. The cinema could do with some expansion as well as well but on the whole its of a good standard.
