This cinema is quite well laid out once you get past the entrance - which is of course on the ground floor while the cinema is on the first floor, so you have to go up/down escalators to get in/out.
There is a big lobby with large snacks/drinks bar, and big screens with plenty of trailers in case you're late :D
Vue Festival Place is a moderately sized cinema multiplex located near a number of restaurant chains just outside of the Festival Place shopping centre. It offers a range of comfortable seats that are on staircase levels so that wherever you sit, your view of the screen should remain clear. The screens are large, with good picture quality.
Vue offers a student discount, and with Orange Wednesdays this helps to combat the ever rising ticket prices, but otherwise in comparison to most cinemas, the Vue prices are reasonable.
This cinema offers the standard variety of sweets, popcorn, icecream, soft drinks and hot dogs that are expected of a cinema, and likewise with most places they are very overpriced. If you want to save money, buy your own sweets beforehand and take them in yourself.
The only cinema in Basingstoke town centre, Vue is a pretty good venue. The seats are comfortable, theatres are large, and there is a decent selection of films on at any given time.
In the past we've noticed some conflicts between movies listed on websites and movies actually playing, so if you're dead set on seeing a movie it may be a good idea to call ahead of time.
Also, if you don't want to be inundated with teens post movie, I suggest going to see a movie sometime other than Friday and Saturday night as the area around the cinema can get quite busy and loud.
A nice new, modern and comfy cinema with good seating and large screens. Ideally buy sweets drink etc before and take them in, as it can get very expensive once you have bought the popcorn, the drink and the sweets. They also do student discount and orange Wednesdays, which is a big help as the prices seem to keep rising lately.Ideally avoid on a Saturday night if you haven't pre booked tickets but think that is pretty much standard with most popular places now. Great cinema
This is a good cinema, in my humble opinion. It's modern, well laid out, with a good selection of screens and films. The leg room is also very generous - believe me, this makes a difference if you're over six foot, like I am. Food and drinks are massively overpriced (just like all cinemas these days) but the spacious screens and comfortable seats make this a great place to catch a film.
A good mid-size Vue cinema, fairly new and I have always found it to be pretty clean which is important to me in a cinema! I don't want to be sitting on someone elses nachos or popcorn thanks. It does seem a lot cleaner and better looked after than the other cinema's I go to near where i live in NW london. Seats are comfortable.
There are late showings of films on a Friday and Saturday but be aware if you go to the cinema and park in Festival Place the shopping centre shuts totally after midnight I think it is and so you have to walk back up the car ramp to the car park to get your car back!
Vue is the 2nd cinema in basingstoke, but the only one in the town centre.
It was originaly a stur century and as such has lots of very large screens.
The slope in all the screens is nice and steep so that your view is never blocked by someone infront of you.
Its kept well cleaned, and normally well staffed. Quickpay machines are located inside the cinema, as well as online booking with seat choice.
Unlike some of the newer vue's this one doesnt have the larger seats, but due to the stur history the seats are more than large enough. Ample leg room is provided between rows which is always nice.
The sound here is much better than the competitions but its not quite THX certified, but very impressive none the less.
This vue takes part in orange wedendsdays, as well as accepts nectar points as payment
