This is a very huge impressive building but only part of it is actually used. They used to hold a really good antique fair here but have stopped now which is a shame.
There is a public bar which is housed in a lovely room which is full of original fittings and its got a lovely atmosphere. You have to go up a winding staircase to get to the toilets and they have a haunted feel to them but they are very nice and spacious and kept clean.
The restaurant is also in a really big room full of original fixtures and fittings which makes it a delight to eat there.
The prices are quite dear but the food is lovely and unique.
They also do some concerts in the old ball room which are a good night out.
The staff are lovely and friendly too.
I havent stayed in a room here but have heard they are big and spacious and clean.
I do not like gravy and my plate came with gravy all over the meat on the plate. The Turkey and the rest of the meal was subsequently destroyed by the gravy. Never ever put gravy on a customers plate.
What a cracking hotel, bit difficult to find round the Bradford ring road, but it's great when you get there. It's a huge old Victorian hotel, with high ceilings etc, but once you get in the rooms they're very contemporary, and the decor works fantastic. The restaurant i found to be a little too nouvelle cuisine but the breakfast was perfect.
Service has been excellent whenever i stop their and after stopping in many faceless multi national boxes, it's great to stop in a hotel with character that doesnt cost you a fortune.
A good quality hotel, in bradford!
The hotel used to be a bit run down, but has been taken over by a new company who have refurbished the building making it into a very contemporary hotel.
The rooms are lovely, with a choice of room varying with the price.
I went to the New Years Eve event, which was very good, and excellent value for money.
The food here is very good, with drinks a little pricey, but in line with most hotels.
This really has become a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Bradford and is THE place to stay should you visit or be passing through Bradford. The room I stayed in was as a Valentines package and really was a very high standard of decor and furnture etc. The attached retsaurant and bar are good value and can be used by residents and non residents alike. I would recommend this place as a place to stay for a special occasion even if you've no other reason to venture out into Bradford itself.
The Great Victoria Hotel is located right over the road from the bus and train station and therefore ideally suited to anyone visiting the city be it to see family at the university or for the George Theatre next door to catch a show. It has a big car park which is free to use and the hotel itself is quite large with a decent sized restaurant, bar, and function room. Downstairs there is another function room and a gym. Rooms are nice and the prices are good, starting from £50. The food is excellent and the service from the staff is also good with room service available. This hotel is a good one based in Bradford and I highly recommend it.
