Vanguard Surf & Skate

Needed new wheels for my son's skateboard. Yelp steered me to this place and once again did not disappoint. Everyone was friendly and super helpful, especially Cameron who recommended the perfect wheels to smooth out that ride. In just a few minutes they swapped wheels for us and we were on our way.

After trying out my son's deck, it made me want to get a skateboard of my own so my first thought was to go back to see Cameron because he was so great and because I like to support local shops. He helped me choose a sweet Loaded longboard for myself that's perfect for carving. Thanks Cameron!

This place no longer exists. It has gone out of business as far as I can tell.

Drove by today and the place was empty with some sort of eviction notice on the door.

Great local surf shop, Randy and Ray are super cool and always have a few good deals in the shop. When ever I need to order something they have done me right. I just got my new 6' quad from Brian Hopper and I am super stoked. I would rather give them the biz than other shops for sure. And their skate side is loaded and the last few pair of shoes I got here to $$. Great shop good vibe

Very helpful staff. Helped me find a board for my son. Left with a cool Globe board. My son ended exchanging it for something else because the board was not his style. However, he was happy I went to this store which is a great place for youth to do their shopping of skateboards and other apparel.

Bought my daughter's first skateboard few days ago.
With no idea what to look for, we received absolute top customer service. Everyone had a smile on their face, super friendly, great explanation,great selection. I wished the guy has told me about the10%off after checking in on Yelp since I asked if they had any specials going on but they still deserve 5 stars from me.

This place is great for those that live in the south Torrance area. I came here to get stuff over the years such as a body board, wax, and board shorts.

There is a nice selection of skateboards, and surfboards and such.
The price is okay though. Though my dad thought I got ripped off for buying a $100 sponge board aka body board (I probably did but got my money's worth out of it and it is still firm and ticking after all these years).

Went in today to have a board made for my son. The whole vibe of this place was great! I was nervous at first because I have zero knowledge of the process...
I was greeted immediately after walking in by Issey and another man with dreads and felt very comfortable. Issey helped me with everything and even assembled the board for me. Very excited about this gift!! Thank you, Vanguard !

This is a great local shop for surf and skate clothes as well as surf and skate gear.

The skateboard selection is the best around for many many miles. The staff is always very friendly. Get on their mailing list for specials and sales.

We always go to Vanguard because they are super friendly and they sponsor Palos Verdes High school's surf team. Cam is great. He just helped me out with a great new Rip Curl Flash bomb wetsuit. I wore it today and felt like I was in the tropics.
I highly recommend this surf shop. It's small but has a great vibe.

For a long time I've been looking for an excuse to start surfing.... the time had finally come. In my quest for gear, I researched the area and the various surf shop options. Using my good ol' friend Yelp, I finally settled on Vanguard Surf and Skate.

Can't be more glad that I did! I was helped by a very friendly staff member (sorry I can't remember his name!), who took the time to answer all my questions and did all he could to be sure my first experience in the water went great!
