This cinema has ample free parking and is best visited on a Tuesday to full advantage of the cheaper tickets (something like £4). The quality of the picture far exceeds that of the Cineworld in the town centre because all of these screens are DIGITAL! They have recently added additional screens with better seats, but all screens have more legroom than the Cineworld in the town centre.
This has changed names so many times, that it's difficult to find a phone number for if you want to book tickets or find out what's on.
Staff are unhelpful, but if your not bothered about the queues to get snacks and stuff, then who cares!! Your watching a film, not making friends!! Just don't go if you stress out easily.
The Empire cinema is an OK cinema. The new Cineworld in the town centre is better and even though you have to pay for parking it can work out cheaper so I imagine Empire is suffering.
It has plenty of free parking which is great and you can't beat it for convenience if you travel by bus or car as the park and ride is opposite and it's about 2 minutes off the motorway. The tickets prices are about standard but it doesn't have many special offers or the option for unlimited subscriptions like others do. Also with 6 screens it's actually quite a small cinema in comparison to others so cannot provide the same choice of films or showings.
This is now Empire Cinemas. Great place to take the kids on a Saturday morning as they have kids shows for a pound. The whole family can go for a pound and the kids really enjoy it. Good thing is there aren't loads of queues at that time. The downside is the cost of snacks! £6.10 for a popcorn and drink combo! Unbelievable, but at least the tickets were cheap. I would recommend taking the kids there. My son had a great time yesterday and we plan on making it a regular occurrence.
This cinema is ok, bit it feels very outdated. When you watch the film you are sat on them old style folding seats which are falling apart and the floor feels like it hasnt been cleaned in a good while. The screens are pretty small compared to most cinemas and they arent great quality either. Price is average. Its ok if you want to see a very popular film as most people will go to the bigger and better cinemas.
This is now the Empire cinema, it is so much better than the one in the town centre purely because the parking is free and the screens are much bigger and the seats are more comfy.
