Just an update to say that the staff in here are fantastic! I came back to purchase my coat, and the girl in the shop couldn't have been more helpful. She put aside the size I wanted, so I could check in another shop to try another I'd been looking at, and held it until I returned without any kind of pressure to buy. Again, there were a number of fantastic items to covet, some at a great sale price. There are so many unique things in this shop that I'm sure to become a regular, even if only to browse! On another note, I almost bought a dress for a friend, but given that I was unsure of the sizing checked if I could return it -there's no return policy (on sales items in the least) but you can exchange within the shop for another item.
Regardless, I now have a lovely new coat and it's probably the cheapest (and possibly the most stylish) I've bought in the last ten years. Fantastic! Friendly staff, excellent range and really quite reasonable prices.
Original, beautiful clothing. Wearing pieces from here will definitely get you noticed. Fine fabrics, silks and shimmers all add to the appeal of this shop to me.
Downstairs they have a selection of couture dresses - perfect for impressing at glamorous parties and summer balls.
Although the prices may be steep, you really are paying for something of beautiful quality. Even if you can't afford it, it's worth teasing yourself with the window shopping.
To me Tunnel seems an odd mix of rather tacky and rather interesting clothes. The range on offer is quite varied, so everyone should be able to find something that appeals to them. There are bold and bright be-sequined going out clothes as well as some simpler, more classic tops and cardigans. They also sell a range of unusual shoes and jewellery.
If ball-gown shopping head downstairs! Among more casual options there is a rack of eye-popping ball gowns in shimmering silks with sequins, lace and bows galore. If you're looking for something that packs a visual punch you will find it here. Though expensive, the dresses are quite unusual, and clearly intended for special occasions.
Skip the expensive, run-of-the-mill knitwear and knee length skirts on the ground floor of this tiny boutique and head straight downstairs, where there always seems to be a sale on fabulous, extravagant dresses. Some of the more elaborate (think feathers, sequins and beautiful shimmering fabrics) come with an eye-poppingly large price tag attached, but they're beautiful to look at and some of the other dresses are very affordable and, in my view, just as pretty. This shop isn't for shrinking violets - the stock here leans heavily towards the short and tight, with body-con dresses, corsets and tiny tutu-style skirts all featuring in a variety of loud colours. They also do shoes, bags and jewellery, and when the sale's in full swing it can often be cheaper than Topshop.
Tunnel is amazing, really good clothes, really reasonably priced. I have shopped there since I was 13 and I'm now 26 never had a bad experience. If they don't have it in stock they will try loads to get you it. I have also taken a faulty item back with absolutely no probs. I don't understand how anybody can have a bad word to say. I love it, especially the skull bags!!!
