We have various things delivered at my place of work* most days of the week from TNT and sometimes - just sometimes - our items arrive roughly when they are supposed to and entirely undamaged. However, we rarely receive anything that doesn't have clear signs of damage and, quite often, boot-marks. Boot-marks!
The damage is largely superficial (probably 95% of the time) but there is a severe lack of care with the items they handle. Looking in to their delivery vans, particularly early in the morning before the driver has really started on his route, the state inside resembles a compulsive hoarders cave with bits, bobs, boxes and bedlam in no order whatsoever. This is where the boot-marks (boot-marks!) come from as the driver often has to climb through an abstract cardboard cave system to dig out whatever it is you're expecting.
The drivers are almost always amiable and cheery, which is a plus.
Major problems are rare and disasters are rarer still. But TNT have proven over time to be an uncaring delivery service. If not in their commitment to delivering the package to the recipient, as not many are missed in my experience, but the method in which the vans are stocked and packages are (mis)treated needs reviewing.
*Some of our clients and distributors send goods over to us with TNT. We tend not to use them.
My office had an account with TNT and the last 4 collections that we have arranged for over night delivery have not been picked up.
While the customer service advisors answering the phones have been apologetic, all they can do is repeatedly try and call the depot or drivers to see what has happened. Every time the driver has said they've tried to pick it up but there was no-one home - for an office of 50 people during working hours I find this hard to believe.
After complaining several times and not seeing any improvement with service we've changed couriers and will not be using TNT again, too much of a risk that they just won't show up!!
Worst experience I have ever had. Lying liars evil horrible customer service. Package lost, blame the shipper instead of taking responsibility. LIED LIED AND LIED AGAIN.
I purchase everything online and having few hobby's to do with crafting I require a lot of parts and materials. Never ever had a problem with any other companies apart from TNT. 5 Times they delivered the item packaging always looks like its been used as a football. Last item was broken so bad it was a mosaic of pieces in the box it was well packaged so I did not feel anything broken inside and TNT (on purpose) wrapped the box in ton on black clingfilm so I would not be able to see any damage done to the box. Over the phone TNT told me its my fault as I should not have signed for it if it was damaged.
It is fine, if they are happy to receive a negative feedback to save £20 for the item they have smashed and make me delay their drivers for half an hour from now on every time TNT delivers something to me so that I can slowly open and check the content for damage before signing. That's fine by me. But it just looks like a terrible business moto. Trade of bad rep and having drivers delayed for the sake of £20.
Customer service reps replay was " well, SIR, that's your opinion...."
This carrier in inefficient and unreliable. I will never order from a company that uses TNT as their shipping company, they are experts in giving you the runaround and lying!
They are horrible. They need separate paper work filled out, didn't send it told me that the company I am shipping my box from would, so I get the label. and that they can pick it up as I would be out. They call I am not in so they don't pick it up. They end up coming the next day and don't pick it up because I don't have the paper work, which they didn't send me, so I fill it out tell them to call me when they are near, and they do not, so they don't pick it up. It's taken 6 days to send out a box. HORRIBLE!
