Cool shows ! There is a bar where you can drink and eat pizzas.
Cheap prices (£8 for the show and £5 for a pizza !). Various artist comings !
Very cool place to spend a fun evening !
They say comedy is the new Rock 'N Roll and if that is true this is the equivalent of The Caves in Liverpool where The Beatles were found.
Don't be startled on entry, there is a doorway with a till and always a lovely smiling doorman/doorwoman, but apart from that you are lead down a corridor. Surely this isn't where the venue is?! Then you are lead down a winding staircase. The first time I visited this marvellous club I was worried it was going to be like something out of Alice In Wonderland, and I was kind of right, because this place really is a wonderland.
They do comedy 7 nights a week and each night it is a safe bet. They have huge acts from TV, Radio and across the UK comedy circuit who WANT to play this place.
This is what a comedy venue should be a low ceilinged, cheap and fun venue. You feel like you're really a part of something, a really fun shared night where the comics enjoy the show as much the audience. You will regularly see the acts hanging around just to see the rest of the show - something unheard of in any other London club.
Best of all it's cheap. I am sure the club would prefer it to be described as 'reasonable' but you can even see some huge acts for free. That is my favourite price - free.
So, do yourself a favour if you want a fun, funny and guaranteed good night out in the capital come here.
To be fair, I did not stay to watch an act, as my friend and I had sat waiting for a good 20 minutes after the show was suppose to start. The comp tried to do some stand up, as he was filling in for a comedian who had not shown up, however he was not funny.
The room itself is a bit of a dive, not something I always mind, if the vibe is good. The drinks are cheap, but is a Blossom Hill wine type of bar.
Will not be returning.
really funny comedians. had a great time there. you can get biers and pizza at a really reasonnable price too.
There is a group of young men on a tuesday that do an improvisation comedy night. We gave it a go on our first night in London and I was howling. They have some wonderfully talented young performers and also some well established comedy names. Yes the decor is dated, it reminds me of a rehearsal room we used to use at our local theatre but decor doesn't matter! The five guys kept me laughing all evening with their sharp wit, lots of tongue in cheek antics and most importantly their sheer talent. Well done all. See you again soon.
We specialise in top class comedy shows with all the hot acts on the London live comedy circuit and TV, all with a side order of a beckoningly cheap bar.
We sometimes have super famous comedians come to try new material for an upcoming tour, such as John Bishop, Jack Whitehall, Jason Manford, Lee Nelson, Eddie Izzard, Russell Howard and Dara O'Briain. Our line-ups regularly have the absolute creme de la creme of top notch comics from the London circuit, such as Prince Abdi, Andrew Lawrence, Ria Lina, Josh Howie, Ian Stone, Bobby Mair, Joel Dommett, Romesh Ranganathan, Holly Walsh, Scott Capurro and many more.
Established in 2012.
The Top Secret Comedy Club is the brainchild of renowned street performer Mark Rothman. It started as just a Friday night of comedy at The Africa Centre a few years ago. Now we're open every day of the year (except Christmas Day) in our shiny new venue at 170 Drury Lane! We've had the privilege to welcome acts like Eddie Izzard, Jack Whitehall and Dara O'Briain to our stage when they pop down to try out new stuff for their upcoming tours, and we're proud to have the absolute best of the best of professional circuit comedians on our line-ups.
We've come a long way and it's all down to the support from the lovely fans of the club, the out-of-the-park fantastic comedians that perform here every day, and the hard work of the TSCC team.
Following his years as a hippie traveler and a street performer in Japan and Asia, and traveling over the far east for ten years, Mark settled in London and into street performing in Covent Garden.
He founded The Top Secret Comedy Club out of a love for comedy. All these years on, it seems it may have been the best thing he ever did!
