Awsome food, great service, great atmosphere, this our now our favortive and special place to treat ourselves to a good dinner and time out.
The Swan at Salford is a traditional pub with a nice bar area and serving food throughout the day 12pm to 10pm. The menu varies with a more restricted menu available 3pm to 6pm, but even the restricted menu has soup, Camembert, burger, sausage and mash, rump steak and Caesar Salad. Prices range from about £4.50 to £6.00 for starters, and £9.75 to £19.50 for mains.
There are some interesting Deli Boards to share: so we tried the charcuterie one with chorizo, salami, honey roast ham, rustic bread and chutneys for £8.75. For the mains we had Caesar salad, free-range roast chicken, crispy bacon & anchovies for £10.50 and 28 day dry-aged Aberdeenshire 10oz Porterhouse steak, fat chips, corn on the cob and béarnaise sauce for £19.50.
The food was all well prepared and tasty, and the service was good too.
Nice looking pub with well laid out restaurant. Food menu was good but I was disappointed with my choice which was very dry. I had ordered the fish dish but was told that no fish had arrived that day so had to quickly make another choice which turned out to be pretty tastless. It may be that we were unlucky on the day.
The Swan is a lovely pub in a lovely setting with friendly and helpful staff. Which to be honest is quite a rareity for Milton Keynes.
They offer a great selection of lunches as well as very nice higher end al a carte dinner menu. Making it the perfect place to go enjoy a couple of drinks and a sharing platter in lovely garden for lunch. Or indeed very nice place for dinner for two or indeed a good party venue.
This is one of the best that I've been to in the Milton Keynes area. Near the crossroads of a small village, close to the new town. Menu varies, quite a lot of seasonal food and they appear to take care to offer fish and vegetarian dishes too. Tables are reasonably spaced. Popular at lunchtime and evening - good idea to book ahead.
i am very unimpressed
Extraordinarily good food - always a great selection of 'specials' with a focus on quality, local ingredients. I've eaten here a number of times and every time I've been delighted by the high quality menus, unpretentious and knowledgeable staff and pleasant surroundings. Would definitely recommend and will return.
