I spent 3 nights at the Rubens this past June and it was a fantastic experience. I reserved one of their packages deals ("A Royal Day Out") and it was wonderful. A tour of the Royal Mews, entry to the Queen's Gallery and an Afternoon High Tea. I was a solo traveler and the package is for 2 people, so I asked if I could have Afternoon Tea twice, since I was on my own. The staff were very accommodating and granted my request. My room overlooked the Royal Mews, which meant that it faced the street. However, each window was doubled, so there was no traffic sounds to disturb me. The room was a bit small, but I actually didn't expect anything much bigger. It was well-appointed, and internet access was free.

The hotel is a bit on the pricey side, but this was my luxury treat for my vacation, so I didn't mind paying.

The Afternoon Tea and the morning breakfast were spectacular, and the service impeccable. I highly recommend this hotel for travelers, solo or not.

My fiancé and I stayed here two years ago while he was in town for business, and I, for pleasure.  It was a GREAT location, right next to the Queen Mum over at The Buckingham Palace.  The room was small and next time I might opt for a larger room but it does become pricey, two years ago we paid 550 a night for a tiny room - for that, I'd rather be at Pebble Beach Spanish Bay Inn, ha!  With that said, this is Europe right?

I loved the downstairs bar and tea room area.  My fiancé and I had afternoon tea and cookies at least twice. I went on a couple of tours of castles while he was working and the staff was quite helpful in helping me pick my selection.  I'd definitely recommend this place because of the location, friendly staff and the tea room.

I stayed at the Rubens with a colleague once during a business trip.  It was a reasonable hotel very close to Buckingham Palace and in a location designed for sightseeing tourists.  Some of the rooms (like mine) were spacious, but others (like my colleague's) were quite small.  I would not have a problem staying here again but if I had the choice, I'd probably opt for a new hotel just to try some someplace different.

And I updated the business information for this hotel on the 10th because it was wrong.  Let's see how long it takes for the change to become official.  There are also 3 other listings for this hotel.  I didn't report those because I don't like to ask for more than one change at a time.

Great hotel, excellent location.  Rooms were very clean and had nicely updated bathrooms.  The staff was very friendly and eager to help.
