The Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre was opened by Diana, Princess of Wales in 1992 and is one of the largest shopping centres in the south east and is situated in the centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells.
The site houses just over 100 shops including many small unique shops as wells as more commonly known chain retailers such as Fenwick, Marks & Spencer, Bhs, Boots, Woolworths, WH Smith. In addition there is large food court and in all the centre houses 14 food outlets ranging from fast food such as KFC and McDonalds to health food sellers such as the GoGo Juice Bar.
The centre is a great amenity for the town catering for the residents shopping wants regardless of age or taste as wells as providing employment and developing commerce in the area.
The centre is a great place to visit for a day out if you live within 20 or so miles as there really is nothing similar nearby. However, it can be very busy at weekends and can be crowded, it's probably best to visit sometime during the week when the stock levels will be better - perhaps taking advantage of the late night shopping on Thursdays when the complex is open until 9pm.
Very much worth a visit if you have cash to spend.

Yawn. The usual identikit-town retailers rule the roost here. You could be anywhere in the UK I'm afraid. I'm not saying the town is a worse place for it - heaven knows where we'd be without a Maccy D outlet and fifteen mobile phone shops, but it's a rich irony in a town that HAS A BEAUTIFUL GEORGIAN PEDESTRIANISED PRECINCT AND AN OLD HIGH STREET FULL OF INTERESTING, INDEPENDENT RETAILERS that the masses go here instead. You don't know what you've got 'til you lose it....
That I've given the place one star at all is in recognition of the fantastic red outfits the poor Westfield staff have to wear. I'll have a pint of what the clothes designer was on!!! They are BRIGHT RED. Unbelievably crazy choice chaps!!!!

I can imagine this shopping centre will be packed with Xmas shoppers this and every year. This centre is owned by a company called Westfield who own many centres throughout the UK. The company even have their own credit card!
It is possible to get clothes, food and a cafe here.

Has a good variety of shops, lots of parking and a large foodhall downstairs. Not overly populated by teenagers as some shopping centres are.
Plenty of clothes shops, could do with a wider range of women's fashion but not bad for the area.

Owned by Westfield who have just opened the massive centre in Shepherd's Bush, RVP is a compact shopping experience with all the well known high street shops. It can get very busy especially in holiday periods (go very early or late for Christmas shopping) and there will be long parking queues. Situated right in the town centre, it's easy to find and if too crowded, easy to escape to other shops and restaurants if fast food isn't for you.
