This pub is located in town, so it's nice to stop in here while you're shopping and need a drink.
I came here with my cousin and a group of her friends and I really liked how this pub is laid out. It's large and spacious with comfortable seating and an outdoor area. So if there happens to be some good weather passing through, take full advantage and sit in the outside area!
Although, sitting inside is just as nice. The service was great and the name of this pub is adorable! I didn't eat here, but the food did look good as I saw others dining here. Great pub!
Down a cobble stone street lies The Purple Dog, all quiet and nestled away in it's own little corner but with ample access out in case you need a quick escape for whatever reason.
The Purple Dog is a nice little spot, tables and chairs and cosy couches. Myself and 5 Brits enjoyed the holiday spirit(s) together. The food smelled great, but I didn't see or try any of it.
We weren't there long, as this was only a stopping point on our way, so I can't say much more than that. Oh, except that the bathroom (yet again) was freezing cold and offered no warm running water. You also have to pass through all the fag smoking patrons on the way to it. I think I lost a year or two off my life just walking in. By the way, what is it with you Brits and your cold toilets? It's a wonder I didn't lose my butt skin on those seats.
Great laid back pub just off the centre of town. Good selection of local beers & ciders, friendly staff, nice leather sofas & spots to people watch during the day.
There is a lovely courtyard out the back which is a sun trap when we get the sun!!
