Whenever I'm in Birmingham City Centre I have to go and have a mooch around The Perfume Shop in The Bullring.
As you'd expect from the name, they specialise in perfumes but also have the matching body creams and shower gels which can lead to huge savings compared to the prices of these products in Boots and other stores such as this.
This particular branch is one of the best when it comes to the level of stock, I've visited several Perfume Shops around the country and this one consistently has whatever I'm after with even sale stock being replenished regularly so there's no risk of getting all the way to the shop to buy a particular sale perfume only to find they ran out on the first day and haven't had any in since.
There are plenty of perfume testers inside and the ladies (and man!) who work there are knowledgeable about the different scents, to the point of honestly telling you if a certain scent isn't right for you.
The smell inside the shop isn't as overpowering as you'd expect considering one hundred and one tester bottles are all being pressed within minutes of each other. The air gets a little heavy, my mum has severe asthma and cannot go in here as the perfume upsets her chest but 'normal' (lol) people won't have this problem - oh, apart from my fella who always dramatically clutches his chest and nostrils whenever he comes in here with me!
Prices are absolutely wonderful. My favourite way to use this shop is to make it the first stop, choose whatever perfume I want and then pop to Boots and Selfridges to check out their prices. If The Perfume Shop is cheaper, and it always is, then I go back and buy it.
I also love the gift sets available in The Perfume Shop, only last week I bought two Ghost Deep Night sets containing a small bottle of perfume, body lotion and shimmer lotion costing only £6.99 each - both of them have gone up for friends' birthday presents as I'm not keen on the fragrance myself but for this price I couldn't NOT buy them!
As this is located in the Bull Ring, disabled access is fine. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters will get along the wide aisles with no problem at all - although as I mentioned above, if you suffer with breathing problems then this might not be the shop for you!
