a good day out with a good range of animals. The meerkats exhibit is brilliant and shows a very happy family unit.
the staff are knowledgable and its certainly a good place to go on a cold day just to warm up!
The admission might be a little steep, but if you've definately got the time to spend its worth it, because there is a lot to see.
As someone with mobility problems the number of benches in the plams is a definate plus because if you're struggling from one section to another there's always somewhere to sit down!
The cafe in the palms is good, selling a nice range of drinks and food.
The shop too has some wonderful gifts, and also information on adopting animals in the Palms.
A good day out for adults and kids alike.
A good day out - animals to see - child friendly - worth a visit - ocassionally have special offers on entrance fees - which are not too expenisive in the first place
A typical family outing with bog standard refreshment opportunities and minimal attractions. Many years ago the price to visit was a lot less (and students were able to receive a greater discount than today). It seems that you get little for your money as many of the animals have either been moved or passed away many years ago with the popularity of the place. There is a range of animals on display which gives young children a variety to engage with however the diminishing quality of the enclosures leaves little to the imagination. There are far worse places to visit however the palms is hardly a 'hot' place on the map. Typical to any tourist attraction there is a gift shop by the exit - offering the usual range of tourist like trash that either breaks or offers no use to the customer whatsoever. 10 years ago this would have offered visitors a lot for their money and provided a decent place for young families to visit when the weather turned bad. However recent developments and concentrations on money making rather than improvements has led to this attraction looking tired and desparate.
lovely place to visit & see lots of animals from skunks to a caiman crocodile. there are creepy crawlies, black tip reef sharks, piranhas & much more. the zoo keepers are friendly, on sunday afternoons at feeding times they give talks about the animals. the admission charges are reasonable & you can even adopt an animal. there is a shop & cafe & even a function room for hire. next to the palms is a huge garden centre which has things for the home & garden, enough to keep you busy all day!
