This is a great family pub with decent, no nonsense, nosh. We've been coming here for years and have always found it rather good. They stock a good range of local beers and their wine selection is reasonable too.
The prices are fair and the interior is clean and functional (if a little bland). The staff are helpful and child-friendly too. It's a fair way out of the centre of town however, located on the main road to Letchworth but worth a trip if this is the kind of establishment you're looking for.
It'd be worth ringing ahead and booking if you're coming at peak time and want to eat as it's a popular place (which is probably a good recommendation in itself!). The car park is large so parking is no problem.
I've also been going to the Millstream for over a period of 3 years now and have been there whilst i has changed hands. The food is very average but the location, atmosphere and pub itself is very pretty and worth a visit. They also now have a quiz on a Monday night called Quizgo, which is basically a quiz type of bingo - and can be a laugh with a group of friends - and number of drinks! It is a nice family and friendly pub with lovely staff and they serve fantastic coffee! Recommended - i'd give it a big eight out of ten.
Not bad but a bit pricy and can be chilly in there, but for goodness sake lose the mouldy umbrellas in the outdoor seating area (unless they're to be used this summer....)
Nice location BUT please clean up the river and make the wasted car park into a child friendly play area. I cannot comment on the food as i believe it has changed hands since my last visit.
This is a nicely decorated pub and the staff are generally quite nice but it lacks atmosphere in some indefinable way. The beer is very expensive and I have TWICE been sold crisps that are past their sell by date. I have also eaten there - it was terrible.
