The reason this place get s a four star review is for its balance between the fresh Turkish food it prepares, and the price. On the corner of Church Street and the High Street in Stoke Newington, you can relax under the cozy colorful lamps, and look out over the once active hookahs and thank someone (not the government, of course) that you are not engulfed in a fog of apple-spiced exhalation.
The food is all very fresh, and there is fresh mint tea and stong and sweet Turkish coffee to accompany your meal. The servings are rather generous, and the stuffed vine leaves, and hummus were delicious. This is a great place to go for lunch, with its light and unpretentious food, which is excellent value for money compared to some of the other eateries on Stoke Newington Church Street. The meze platter that can be shared by two has a good variety, or just order a selection of the starters to share. Don't forget a bite of Turkish delight to finish off with!
I recently had lunch here and was very pleased.
Tradional Turkish food with english breakfast thrown into the mix. Very friendly polite staff with nice surroundings. All the food tatstes authentic and fresh.
Its great for either breakfast, lunch or dinner. The place is always busy which gives you an idea of how good the place is!
Very good place for veggies. I am a meat eater and I didnt fell that I was missing out when i had a veggie meal. I highly recommend that you try it at least once if your in stokie.
ps. you have to try the dolmas. Which means stuffed vine leafs with rice and spices.
Can't really figure out what kinda place is this.. when asked, half of the menu wasn't available..! So whats the point?!
Great little Turkish number- pretty cheap too. Located on Church st this little Turkish Gem offers a range of mezes and traditional Turkish meats and dishes. Family owned and run too which is a nice touch, Plus good Efes beer and lots of cool lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Good for lunch or dinner.
