If you visit no other country pub, in Herefordshire, then make sure this is the one! Approximately 6miles out of Hereford City centre on the Hay-on-Wye road, it sits at a little cross-roads.
Walk through the door and you feel the warmth of welcome. Arrange a table for your meal and take your time to work through the variety of dishes available. The food is out of this world, all freshly cooked on the premises. They often have live music too, especially on a saturday night.
First are the roasts, with all the usual trimmings of fresh vegetables and sauces. Then there are the curries; occasionally there are special curry nights when you can choose froma really mild to when will the fire go out!!! experiences. The quality of the food is excellent, as witnessed by the almost always full car park.
Get there fairly early on a Sunday or you may be waiting a while for your table; of course this will give you a good excuse to sample the various ales on tap, and maybe watch a little bit of sport in the bar.
The owners have worked hard to give good value service and it shows. You will not be disappointed in your meal, your surroundings, or your welcome, and when they say Call again they know you probably will.
