    First to Review

I'd been dead excited about the baby bathhouse opening since first seeing the 'coming soon' signs in Gold Bar's windows. It's cute as a button. I went down there last night for a couple of drinks... it's only been open a week and I don't think it's quite gathered pace, but I have a feeling in a few weeks time the place will be rammed.

The place is done out so nicely, looks amazing. Very similar to The Bathhouse... birdcages on the tables, rickety old mirrors and baby doll faces in glass cases at the bar. There was a DJ on and the music was great, it was just so effing loud we resorted to shouting our heads off til the point conversation was actually no longer an option. It's always a bit of a shame when this happens, we ended up going somewhere else.

The staff were all super friendly and the bar is compact but just enough. Love that it's in my neighbourhood, love that it's open late, love that my feet didn't stick to the carpet.

(nb: they're not accpeting credit cards at the mo so bring cash... church street is a total void for cash machines.)

    1 check-in here

Came here for a friend's birthday on Friday and it just didn't impress me.  The downstairs bar only served mixers or beers and the toilets were... well, pitch black.

It's basically the Bathhouse (yelp.co.uk/biz/the-bathh…) without the romanticism of being in a Victorian Bathhouse.  Which, basically meant that you get the Bird Cage (yelp.co.uk/biz/the-birdc…) without the Karaoke.  And urm... bird cages with pineapples in them.

I liked the nooks and crannies though, where apparently is where one goes to find sex, drugs and rock'n'roll.  Yeah, No, none to be find on this occasion as it was occupied by several giggling children.

Which means it is a rather less filthy version of the Melange before it became the Hobby Horse.

So, no, not really impressed at all.
