This place is not an upscale gentlemen's club. The "Tenny" has been a local rite of passage for decades. Parking is free and the cover charge is cheap.

I attended a birthday party here, the staff was friendly enough. The dancers were continuously on the move, engaging with the clientele, and everyone in our group had a good time.

Dive dance club but, girls were great. Didn't smell like smoke to us and I am sensitive so maybe the law has changed for that in PA as we are from OH. Was a good time we went from 8-10 and would go back.

Pay the servers directly, Mike the bartender will rip you off! Ryan, Cat, and Nikki are amazing with kind personalities!

Inexpensive $5 cover, unremarkable beer, super-smoky, no frills, and girls who'll debase themselves for literally $1.

My buddy's car got creamed in the parking lot last month, however, and whoever did it didn't leave a note and there were no security cameras covering the lot. But I guess some people might consider that a good thing, depending on what they were getting up to in the lot lol.

How is there not a yelp review yet for the Tennyson? I have to correct this injustice.

The Tennyson Lodge is a quintessential rite of passage if you're going to claim to be a Pittsburgher. There is a cover (I believe $5) and if naked ladies dancing to your karaoke stylings sounds like a good time, this is the place for you.

I'm not gonna lie. To say this is a no frills establishment may be a bit of an understatement. The women's restroom (single stall, shower curtain?) doubles as the dancers' dressing (?) room. The crowd tends to be relatively diverse in that 1/2 the people are there to gawk at the women, and the other half are there to just watch the whole scene.

Tends to be smoky, get there early for a table, and be prepared to sing a song or two. A good time will be had by most. Well, at least if you're my type of person.

So here's the story, of how I tried to do something good, and I ended up having to dodge a nightstick wielded by a stripper calling herself Officer Nasty.

This place is famous for having a night called Bare-aoke, which I may have spelled incorrectly, but I'm alright with that. Seems clever enough, and we had friends in from out of town so we went over Halloween weekend. It's basically just a bar that happens to have naked ladies wandering around. So we sat at a table, and stared at what could best be described as a disorganized burlesque show?

But, we managed. The beers were relatively inexpensive, and the service was pretty good considering the increasingly surreal crowd. The singing seemed almost like an after thought with the mic tucked into a far corner of the stage. Fun Fact: While singing, you can see into the private dance room, which may be the saddest thing I've seen in...forever.

At the end of the night as we were wrapping up, I began walking to the front when there she was...Officer Nasty. And not just her, but the nightstick that was maybe, how do I say this delicately, a bit icky? We locked eyes...she had the dark, dead eyes of a shark...and I watched in slow motion as she raised her night stick to playfully smack me on the leg.

I'm not a fan of strangers or germs, so this situation had a lot of negatives happening. If that sticky night stick touched my pants I would probably still be having nightmares about it. So my brain took over my body, and with ninja/Matrix like skill, I dodged attempted strike after attempted strike.

So honestly, we had a ton of fun ultimately, and it was quite a bonding experience for our group, and usually when we bring it up in conversation, everybody we talk to insists that we should all go again. We'll see.

This is not a steak house lol this is a topless bar! The girls are very cute and down to earth. It's fun there even if it's busy or not so busy. Always a good time! 20$ dances are reasonable and very much worth it depending on which girls you get them with. Drinks are a little pricey and the dj is living a rockstar Dream unfortunately... let the girls dance to what they like or what the crowd likes. And for goodness sake if you do go to see the beautiful girls, tip them! They work very hard and deserve it!!

I went to the Tennyson tonight with friends. My complaints are not about the performers but rather the announcer. He had absolutely nothing to contribute, and kept singing along as if fulfilling some rockstar fantasy. Dude, let the girls dance. You are an unnecessary distraction. No one is there to listen to you sing.

WOW, I can't believe nobody has written a review of this place since 2012! Come on Pittsburgh! Baraoke is an art form! Went last weekend with a couple of friends. It was my first time. Not for the faint of heart, I will say. Have some drinks before you go, or you may not work up the nerve to walk into the joint. Only on Wednesdays and Fridays does the Tennyson Lodge offer Baraoke= Karaoke= you sing while strippers move to your songs. $5 cover, smoky as hell, iffy crowds, not so great "dancers". BUT, a ton of fun if you are into karaoke, and have a thick skin.

I went here one time and I live within wallking distance, lol. First of all, I'm glad I came already drunk because the bartender was rude and having cash register problems. $5.00 cover is fine, but $4.00 for a bottle of Coors Light, and a 10 minute wait is ridiculous. All of the dancers are nasty. I guess it's what rich, white people like, but I don't. One girl had nice tits. I prefer thick women with big tits and ass. Other than that one, the rest were skin and bones with no tits or ass. I'm not giving them any of my dollars. I didn't get a $20.00 private dance, but a friend of mine swears he got head during a private dance. If I go back and experience that, my review is shooting up to 5 stars.
