Strada is a lovely Italian restaurant that's great for a business lunch or a casual gathering. The dining space is a bit cramped, but in a very friendly way. The lunch specials are particularly appealing. With ~£8.00 entrees and your choice of drink (including house wine) how can you go wrong?
During a business lunch, I tried the Pesto e Pomodoro Schiacciatella. The bread itself was great--crisp and delicious with just the right amount of give and bite. Both the pesto and tomato sauces, though, were a bit bland for my taste.
As an entree I shared an order of ricotta and spinach ravioli and the pesto white pizza, both of which seem to be only on the lunch menu. The Ravioli was the perfect al dente texture, providing a great firmness as well as a gentle give to the fillings inside. The pizza blanka's main attraction was the generous shavings of parmesan cheese that topped it, though the delightfully bitter rocket was a close second! I thoroughly enjoyed both, though my dining partners said the pizza was a bit too boring for them, and they preferred the zestier red-sauce based Rossa pizza.
Strada is a great addition to the food choices in and around Fitzrovia.
the food overall in UK is pretty expensive... i was glad though we picked this restaurant because the prices were reasonable, and the food was very delicious - risottos, pizza, and pasta were all good. services were really good... the environment was very easy, relaxing!
would for sure go back again whenever i am visiting UK again!
I had lunch here today and the food was so nice. I had the lunch special which was £8.50 for a drink and a pizza. the pizza was tomato, gorgonzola and salami and was so tasty, really thin base, plenty of toppings.
The place seemed to be really understaffed though, the waiters were flat out and not the most attentive. They got our bill a bit wrong but for two really big pizzas a coke and a coffee it came to £20 which is really good. I'd go back despite the bad service which is really saying something about the lovely pizzas!
