As soon as I hear 'Splash', my automatic thought is "splish splash I was taking as bath". Therefore, the first time I passed Splash (from a distance), I assumed it was a bathroom shop, or perhaps a tile shop.
Well, how wrong was I? Splash is a shoe shop. I think it's more a reference to a splash of colour than a splash of anything else, particularly as it's mainly a kiddies shoe shop. Oh, who knows?
Anyways, Splash is a teeny tiny little shop on Bloomfield Avenue, which, as I've already mentioned, has its focus on kids shoes, but it also offers ladies shoes. Beware, they're pricey, and there's really not a huge variety in terms of stock, with just a couple of units dedicated to the ladies range. My mum fancied a couple of pairs (before she saw the price), but I didn't think any of them were particularly nice.
The kids shoes were cute and colourful (ah ha, so maybe I was right about the splash element...), but I really couldn't justify paying that much on children's shoes, particularly the babies ones. Yes, they were lovely and very adorable, but when you're buying a new pair every couple of months it's really not worth it. Not in my eyes anyway.
Sweet shoes, with not quite so sweet prices. Although there is a sale on at the minute...
Like Lynne I thought this was some kind of lovely cosmetics/toilitries shop when I seen the name so was surprised to see it was in fact a shoe shop specialising in kiddies shoes. They're really cute! They have a nice collection of shoes for children and babies. They also stock some women's shoes, perhaps to treat mummies who seem to be buying a never ending supply of shoes for their offspring? They're a little old fashioned for my taste though and you could probably buy a few pairs in New Look for the same price! But a nice wee place to go to for something for the little ones...perhaps better for older kids due to the prices?
