Now called spire (why change it?!) it has had a lick of paint and been tarted up in places. However on ward 2 it still needs some work. Not sure when it was built but certainly needed redecorating.
The staff are friendly and helpful but I guess they should be in a private hospital. I was in for one night and found the food choices poor considering it was private. However, you do get a private room, ensuite, small flatscreen tv with freebies and a button to call for assistance.
I couldn't decide if there was no sense of urgency or if they were allowing you to take your time.
I had hoped for wifi but sadly, I couldn't find anything to connect to up in the eaves.
Overall a good hotel, I mean hospital, but thought the Nuffield was better.
