While I have never had a hot meal from here, I can vouch for the convenience this grocery provides to the Quays. Sure, the prices may be a bit higher than your typical super, big chain, mega, food stores in the UK, but then again how many of them are convenient?
If your looking for a simple, quick, easy walk, for some odds and ins in the quays this is the place. Staff have always been friendly and wore a big smile each and every visit I have made for the six months.
Right next to Salford Quays, it is quite good to access this little shop when you are thirsty or you need a little snack. They have good sandwiches, but not the most brilliant ones in the world. I don't really like it cuz is so empty all the time. I mean this shop is incorporated in a block of flats, so you will expect to be someone in it at any time. People are nice in there, they are happy to help you out with anything. Even of you are obsessed with the price of an item or another.
The prices are a bit up for what it offers, but yet again, when you have your lovely Sunday walk on the quays, the last thing you care is probably paying an extra 50p for some biscuits. All in all, it's not the perfect place go for shopping, but if you fancy some bits and bobs now and then is great. Plus, it is open until late in the night, even in the weekends, which obviously is quite a good thing.
Sovereign Food and Wine is no typical newsagents - there isn't anything this place doesn't do! Situated just outside the Lowry Outlet Mall, the shop itself has long opening hours - until late into the night!
They sell all the typical food products, including fresh fruit and veg and even has a deli counter which makes fresh, tasty sandwiches at lunchtimes - quite popular by the many office workers in the area, so be warned there is usually quite a queue!
One issue I will point out is that this shop is quite overpriced. If you aren't able to get to another shop, then Sovereign will suffice, but be prepared for a hefty bill!
The shop staff are always friendly and pleasant.
