Sopna has great Indian food.
While there, I decided to try something I don't usually get, a lamb dish. They had Lamb Ceylon, and the lamb was more tender than I expected, and this mix of ginger and curry and the other seasonings which go into this dish.
Ordered Pilau Rice, instead of Basmati, to go with it.
Also I splurged and had their Vegetable Samosa for an appetizer. It was worth it.
The restaurant has nice atmosphere and decor, and the wait staff is very friendly and helpful.
If I lived in Caernarfon, I'd want to eat at Sopna all the time. However, the only issue with this restaurant is that it's not within walking distance to the town of Caernarfon. It's almost two and a half miles from Caernarfon Castle, and possibly two miles from the town's city limits. According to one of the waiters, he takes the bus to the restaurant every day.
Even though the restaurant is "out in the country," it's a beautiful, scenic area.
The service here is very good, it takes a while for each course to get to your table but the waiters are very obliging. You can even go so far as to ask for samplers of each curry and they'll bring them to your table before you order your meal!
Each course is very generously portioned, and the naan bread is amazing.
Considering the quality of the meal and the overall experience and atmosphere, Sopna is very well priced. The selection of beers is limited but they serve what you'd expect, Cobra, Kingfisher etc.
The curry house is in the middle of nowhere but the car park is never empty, it's worth booking in advance. Sopna even won curry house of the year in Wales a couple of years ago!
Pleasant dining experience, although nothing special either.
The vegetable naan was a little disappointing, it was more like vegetable surprise naan bread- "Whats the surprise"?... "No vegetables".
