This station is your typical train station. Tickets are now checked on the way out of the station but not on the way in, as you have to buy them from the cashier in the station. The station is situated right near corporation street and this isn't far away from the bullring.
Average train station, gets you from A to B, has food outlets, toilets, and newsagents within it, so pretty much everything you'd expect from your train station.
Queues are never usually that bad here, and tickets are decently priced. Its easy to get to as its right in the middle of the city centre.
Snowhill station offers both train and metro/tram service from Birmingham to various destination.
The Tram service is a very promt service where you can be sure to have a tram waiting whenever you go there. It can however, take a rather long time to get to its final destination (wolverhamton St George's) approximately 40 mins compared to a mere 20 minutes' journey with a train. The main reason for this is that the tram does have to stop at many stops about 26 in total taking about 2 minutes to get to each one of them.
It is in rare cases where cases where you might find the tram to stop operating in the middle of the journey in which case you will have to either catch a bus or a train for the remainder of the journey which can be very inconvenient if you have to get to somewhere very urgently for instance, the university.
The station does offer free metro newspapers to read upon entry. And there is also people issuing the Big Issue there as well.
