Now called Azure Garden Centre with reasonably priced plants and pet supplies. My children love to look at the fish and it's a nice place to wander and have a browse, there's a good range. Staff are pleasant and I've never had to wait very long to pay, even at busy times.
This Garden center is now called Azure and has been since 2005. This is NOT SHAW GARDEN CENTRE
The Garden centre is recovering from a large fire destroying much of the building. However it has now been rebuilt and be fully operational in the next few weeks. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful and makes a change from the likes of Peter Barrats and Dobies garden centre. The firm employs mostly disabled staff which is good. There is a large cafe selling drinks and food to be honest the food quality is quite poor but as with most cafes are in Garden Centres. Its a little pit pricey but not bad.
Overall I would recommend :)
Excellent garden centre. Sometimes overpriced but quality goods available. Pet centre and gift section inside. Huge range of plants and garden material available. Brand new cafe with excellent priced, tasty selection of food.
Excellent garden centre.
As mentioned in an earlier post, this garden centre has now been renamed Azure Garden Centre and it has had a bit of a makeover with an excellent new cafe area and outdoor kids play ground. This has made this store a great place to take kids as you can have a snack at the reasonably priced cafe and the kids can run off steam in the playarea. I've never actually bought any garden products so cant comment on their range but I can tell you that the cafe is lovely and has really good prices. At Christmas, this store is particularly nice with lovely Christmas moving displays in the cafe and a dedicated area of Christmas lights and decorations. One of the major plus points at this store is their friendly and helpful staff. This centre offers equal opportunities and employs a number of disabled staff and they excel in their customer service. The staff are extremely helpful and polite to customers.
