I went to this salon yesterday mainly because it is one of the only ones in the area, though it looked nice from outside and I thought I would give it a shot. Considering my men's cut was £15 (no hairwash) I would expect a proficient stylist, however I was very disappointed.
Both ladies in the salon were very nice but it was clear from the offset that they did not understand modern, young styles. When I sat down I was told to say when she started cutting too short, as she had been cutting everyone's hair too short all day long! I was treated to a mix of short and long cutting; the result, a rather hacked at fringe making me look like I was heavily receding Even heavy styling won't hide the uneven fringe and bald side bits I have (or should I say had) a full head of hair! No option other than to let it grow out now.
Perhaps they are better with women's hair, but I felt from the offset that the 'stylist' was essentially winging it. All my friends have agreed that it is a very poor cut, especially for a salon, as opposed to a cheap barbers which would have been a better choice.
Posting this as I could find no info on the salon before booking and paid the price. Would happily have spent an extra £5-10 to get a proper professional cut. I imagine the majority of young men in the area know the places to go but having moved recently I was clearly out the loop
edit: also charged an extra 50p for card payment never been to a salon which has done this before.
