This is a place just for drinking beer and (maybe) have a burger.
As a starter, we ordered the "spundekäse" for 5 euros, which basically was a pot of aldi cheese on a plate with some old bretzeln on top. Not nice.
The white wine was good, but for 7 euros a glass I expect a more professional and faster service. Lack of personal was a problem since they were only two waiters working in the biergarten.
The main courses were ok. We ordered ribs and a flammkuchen, but they took more than 45 minutes to prepare it.
All in all was expensive, slow, and I was still hungry at the end XD
We won't come back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan S.Frankfurt, Germany26531595528 Apr 2015
I have been here twice- both times for breakfast so that is what I'm rating it on.
I adore this place and it really is some of the best breakfast I've had anywhere. Both times I have had a sesame bagel, although with different toppings. The first time I had some smoked salmon on it and this last time I ordered it with turkey breast. Both were just incredible. And the portions are perfect size for brunch.
The space is large and offers multiple outdoor seating areas as well as extensive indoor seating. There is clearly not enough wait staff for the customers, but the ones they do have are surprisingly very good and efficient.
If you have a semi-large group, make sure to call ahead and reserve a place!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chris W.Detroit, United States31184915 Mar 2015
We came for brunch on a drizzly Sunday. There was no wait, but I can see how the restaurant can get crowded quickly since it is really not that big. There is a separate brunch menu which has 12 meal options on the front and al la carte on the back. The hot drinks are listed in their standard Mon-Sat menu. I had the number 5 breakfast burger which was quite filling and an excellent value. I was curious how good the sesame bagel would be. It was delicious! Others order the number four which had even more food.
Overall, there's a strong local vibe and a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ed S.Frankfurt, Germany2572329 Apr 2015
I have been to Schönebergers a few times, most recently for breakfast/brunch prior to an FSV Frankfurt match.
There was a good group of us meeting up there and we were able to get a table easily by booking a couple of days in advance. I order the number 5 breakfast bagel. The food was good and filling and set me up nicely for a day at the football and the drinking activities that ensued with the football.
The previous time I've been to Schönebergers were for drinks in the evening. its a pleasant atmosphere where you can comfortably catch up with friends over a drink or 6.
During times of good weather I would advise sitting out in their large beer garden out back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Qype User (TSfei…)Frankfurt, Germany11228 Jun 2010
I had a great burger there. Price is attractive, the place looks great (you even have a patio in the back of the restaurant), service is good and you can even get a massage while you are eating !
Totally recommend this place if you want to have a good time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Magda J.Frankfurt, Germany5296217 Jan 2016
Came here for dinner last night with a big group and had a great time! This is a really cool restaurant/bar. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the way everything is set up. Its pretty big inside and theres also a huge outdoor area in back for summer. I ordered the schnitzel and was really satisfied with it. It came with a large portion of fries as well as a salad for only 11€, wow. I think that is a pretty good deal. Not pricey at all. And I really did enjoy the meal. The schnitzel was huge so I didn't finish it all but great portions. I also had two glasses of wine which were delicious. Our waitress was friendly and came around to check up on us. Reasonable prices and I will be forsure again.

Trendy bar/restaurant/hangout on Berger Strasse. Schoeneberger is a bit of a mainstay in Bornheim. In Winter it's just the indoors bit which is roomy and comfy enough. In Summer they've got tables on the sidewalk out front and a biergarten sort of thing in the Hof out back.
I'm giving them bonus points for the decor whcih is trendy without seeming over the top. Open brick walls, rough-hewn tables, subtle, indirect lighting. Very nicely done.
The food is nothing spectacular. Some salads, nachos, burgers, couple of steaks, the usual schnitzels. It was Spargelzeit when I last visited so they had several Spargel dishes. Frankly the Spargelcremesuppe was nothing to write home about. On the culinary front what they do have going for them is a variety of Flammkuchen. I've had three different kinds and they're always delish.
Anyway, that's pretty much the highlight foodwise. Service seems to be the young hipster types who typically inhabit Bornheim (OK, no hippie rants this time). In any case they were friendly and efficient. We were out on the sidewalk and there were plenty of females to gander at if you could get past all the freaking patchouli-stinking hippies walking around with their tie-dyes and ironic t-shirts (Sh1t! I promised I'd lay off the hippies).
I guess if you HAVE to be in Bornheim then this is as good as any place to hang out although one understands from the Bornheim insider types that it's become passé. Then again I don't want to hang out with them anyway.
Minus one point for having only Binding Römer Pils (Gag). They do have Schöfferhofer and some botled brews to cover for this GLARING INADEQUACY. Shite Binding. Should be banned.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (prince…)Frankfurt, Germany10192 Feb 2009
Pleasant, relaxed restaurant in Bornheim - the decor is stylish and comfy. There is not much of an atmosphere, it could do with being a bit more lively especially at the weekend.
The food menu is very limited and as a vegetarian my only choice was 'flamkuchen' which was worth a try but nothing special. The portions are quite generous and the ingredients are very fresh.
A nice place to take tourist visitors becuase there are a few german options on the menu - but not somewhere to stay all night if you want a fun night out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jens O.Bonn, Germany02902316 Mar 2009
Great food, great prices. Nice ambience; I liked the Schöneburger very much - get it with large Fries. Tasty and very good. Nice people - friendly staff.

A very popular bar-restaurant. Offers a but a handfull but good dishes. Relatively a little expensive (~10-12€) per dish, Schöneberger is still a great place to meet for a beer and schnitzel.
