This is a cool little spot to grab coffee or lunch. The smorgasbord lunch option allows you to choose 5 mini open-faced sandwiches, with options like smoked salmon, Swedish meatballs, Danish salami, crayfish tails, and other tasty things, for a reasonable £7.
They've also got Scandinavian groceries, so it's perfect for people who are really into Scandinavian groceries.
On top of all that, everyone working there seems to be genuinely pleasant and friendly, even when busy.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - 19 Dec 2022
Grabbed a quick breakfast here and had a great experience. They have indoor seating as well as a few tables outdoors. I visited in early November, and it was warm enough to sit outside. I tried:
+ Cinnamon bun
+ Flat white
+ Nordic smoked salmon open sandwich
+ Curried chicken open sandwich
The sandwiches were both tasty, and I loved the cinnamon bun. Would recommend for an easy meal or snacks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon B.Irvine, United States9341110 Jun 2022
I've been following Scandikitchen for several years on Instagram and couldn't wait for our trip to London so I could finally visit. Today was the day and it was even better than I imagined! The customer service was so kind and helpful. The food was amazing. And my whole family was mesmerized by the options in the shop. Brontë Aurell's recipes are some of our favorite recipes in our home and it was such a wonderful experience to get to try them in person, leave with some yummy treats, and another Brontë cookbook to add to my collection!

We have been using Scandi Kitchen for some time now and have been able to obtain nearly all the Swedish and Danish products with a few Norwegian ones thrown in that we previously found at the Swedish shop in Paris
Its relatively easy to use the website though it doesn't like to take foreign cards
Delivery always seems to take an inordinate amount of time (hence only 4 *s) but its worth it...secret tip...if you want it next day add something frozen, as once all your order has arrived, they guarantee next day service at that point...

Fantastic and quick home delivery to another country!
The items were kept cold, even meat and fish (sill, ansjovis, skagenröra, falukorv) thanks to great packaging with ice packs.
I placed a large order of Swedish items which they shipped to Ireland, the delivery man came with the package to my door.
I will defo order from here again, I had a tiny issue with placing the order on the website but I called them and they helped me in a minute and were very nice.
Huge thanks.

I'm in love with this place.
It only took me about ten years to actually get here, but it finally happened for lunch (and baking supplies shopping).
It's clean and uncluttered but cosy, with big pendant lamps with loops and loops of thick red wire, with prints on the walls of art, products and of course, an elk sign.
There are options for gravadlax, herring, hotdogs (Nordes eat the most of those, you know) and of course meatballs - which run rings around Ikea's and you can have them with mash or prepped salads, and of course gravy.
The staff are wonderful, with catchy Scandi jokes printed on the back of their shirts.
For me, the best bit, is the cakes and the shop. Of course there are cinnamon buns, but of course there are also Daim bar related puds, and dreamlike- which is just gorgeous, and a total throwback to one of my Nanna's bakes with sticky sweet coconut on top.
There's a really good range of salty liquorice, flours, pearl sugar, chocolate bars, jams, pickles, and, moomin biscuits- I could quite easily do 80% of my shop in here.
Definitely recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 26 Aug 2014
Think of Ikea, but on steroids. This establishment serves both as a sit-down restaurant, coffee bar, and a mini grocery store that specializes in Scandinavian consumables. You have your option of dining in, taking out, or just browsing their interesting grocery selection.
FOOD:
I ordered the meatball dish with three sides of salads for about 7 GBP (or $11.61 USD) take-out. Not a bad price, especially with this amount of food! The meatballs were warm and delicious and went well with some of the salads I got. I opt for the beets and apple, sweet potato, and bean salad. All of them had different and unique flavors, however my favorite would be the beets because of the subtle natural sweetness of apple and beets. I wasn't a big fan of the sweet potatos because of one of the spices in the salad, but I can appreciate the cultural difference in people's taste pallets. The bean salad was just a healthy mix of beans and (I believe) lentils that really added a nice balance from the higher notes of flavor in the other salads.
I also tried their Punsch-roll, which is a dessert pastrie made with marzipan dipped in chocolate on each side. The inside filling is something I can't quite point out, but it's delicious! Don't be fooled by the size of it either. Although it's small, it really packs a "Punsch". I would split it with another person if you never had it before.
SERVICE:
The staff was very nice and friendly. Even the person stocking the groceries said hi and made small talk. A little goes a long way.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 14 Jan 2014
Having spent much of the past two years touring around Scandinavia, I was happy to see this place today when walking down Great Titchfield Street. Memories of my last visit to Copenhagen flashed by me...I ate the most wonderful: rye bread topped off with meatballs and beetroot. (By the way, the Smørrebrød literally stands for bread with butter.)
I went inside and saw a nice selection of Smørrebrød in the counter, along with some tasty-looking salads. I went for their 3-piece option for £5.95 (take-away). As 1 piece counts a Smørrebrød or a side salad. I took two Smørrebrød and one side salad, which I enjoyed very much sitting back at my desk and watching photos of Copenhagen on my screen ;-)
In the back of the shop they have plenty of seating as well as a miniature grocery shop, where you can buy Scandinavian goodies.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 29 Mar 2016
I went here while on vacation this past May as a favor to my friend to get some items for her. This is a really cute place that is part restaurant/part store. Although it's tiny, they put a lot of goodies in a shop that size. I first had the lunch which was an open sandwich with a side of potatoes. Yum! I also bought two jars of my favorite lingonberry jam, some crackers, and as much stuff as TSA could allow me.
Nearby the British Museum, this is a very cute store and I highly recommend it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robert W.London80822213154 Apr 2015
I can't believe I haven't been here before!
On our quest to find good places to eat in London for less than £10, fellow Yelper Steve B and I drew up a short list of places that were either recommended or we just fancied the look of. Having a few Scandinavian friends who often come here, it's been on my list for quite a while.
Scandinavian Kitchen has a small frontage and could easily be missed. In fact we both had to check on Yelp where it was, as we both thought we had walked too far down Great Titchfield Street, and must have passed it.
It was very busy when we entered (well it was 1pm), and we were not sure if we would even get a table. You have to order you food at the counter to the front of the store, canteen style. The dining area is in the centre of the building, with a small Scandinavian supermarket to the rear.
We both went for the meatball platter. For £6.95, you got 5 meatballs and a choice of any three salads. The salad portions were huge and actually filled the plate. I went for the traditional beetroot and apple salad, raw cauliflower with rye and almonds and mixed beans with mint salad. The salad choices are seasonal, so can vary.
We were lucky that a couple of tables had been vacated whilst we waited for our lunch. We both really enjoyed the food, although I think I would give the raw cauliflower a miss next time, as there was too much of it and it was getting a bit too samey.
For £6.95 we both thought the place was a bargain, and will definitely come back. They also offer a Scandi hot dog with all the trimmings for £3.00. In fact all the food displayed looked good, from the salads, open sandwiches, wraps, and pastries
Highly recommend!Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - Porch G.Los Angeles, United States9217546321 Feb 2015
I love this place ... I used to live outside Stockholm as a kid but then I've spent the last 30 years in sunny California ... Not many Scandinavian places over there unless you count IKEA ( and I don't )
So I was very happy to find this little oasis with all my childhood favorites ...
... Unfortunately due to high blood pressure I could not have any Extra salted licorice or Kalles Caviar ... BUT... there was plenty of healthy food I could try... I had some different salads and the beers salad was my favorite although everything was great !!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
