After attending a work event last night, i decided to pop into the brand
new Whitechapel branch of Sahara Grill with some friends. I had heard
that this place had opened but never had a chance before to check it
I remember ordering a Mexican beef
burger with seasoned rice (yes, I'm strange like that) alongside a mocha
frappe. The food was very nicely done and didn't take time to arrive at all. The
waiting time is better than most other places that I've been to. The
customer service was of a very high standard as well.
One of my friends who likes his chips to be piping hot requested if it
were possible to reheat his chips. The staff went out of their way to
get him a completely brand new plate of chips. I thought this was a nice
gesture. It's small things like this I think that can win a lot of
The decor was also quite impressive. It had a modern feel to it. The
atmospheric lighting coupled with the wooden finishing made the venue
quite a nice and intimate setting for any meal; especially a dinner
All in all, I would rate the experience as being quite outstanding. I've
been a casual visitor to some of the other Sahara Grill restaurants for
a while, but I think this new branch in Whitechapel may have won me
over. Please remember to stay consistent and keep this level of customer
service and quality of food as you excel in due time and raise awareness
of this new branch.
Actually don't stay consistent. Keep on growing. I'll definitely come
back soon :)
Having heard alot about 'SAHARA GRILL' i finally decided to arrange a group booking for 13 people at the Whitechapel branch. I had made a reservation prior so when I turned up 15 mins early was suprised to be made to wait for 20 mins. Finally when we were led downstairs to the table they had arranged for 2 x tables to be set in an L shape with a gap between and when we asked the waiter why? as we were one group, it seemed they didnt know. Anyhow they arranged the tables to the best they could and we ordered. Starters were chicken wings and a platter of dips, tastless and bland and very simple in their approach. When the main courses arrived, it became clear very soon that the quality and taste of the food was substandard, with the lamb fillet steak being the thinist I have ever had and the chips served in small amounts were clearly shoddy frozen brand. There was more coleslaw splattered on the plates than Salad and fair to say the greens were clearly not tasty. The Grilled chicken was not any better and the gravy that was poured was obviously one that had been made from mixture. The desert was ever more dissapointing and the conclusion was clear that although this was a fine decorated establishment the quality of food was of a greasy cafe standard. So if you are prepared to pay a premium price for Cafe food, this is the place to come. I must however commend the service as they were ever so polite.
Been there for quite a few times as the food there is nice and most importantly cheap. Good service too =)
