Old school pub. Wooden floors, comfy chairs, plenty of tv's. Real landlord who welcomes anyone who will drink without messing around. And lots of old school drinking regulars. About 5% too expensive compared to other proper pubs but worth it to avoid the hipster and bland brigade
This pub could have been goodand may well have been good from what I hear. However right now it's up for sale and I very much got the impression that it's just killing time until someone buys it, which is a real shame. The message outside promises a warm cosy welcome and it's certainly the kind of pub that has the potential to be both warm and cosy. You can definitely imagine it as a smoky pub pre ban too.
The one ale on pump was unimpressive and it was fairly emptyhandful of customers, most there for the football.
The future depends on who buys it and what they use it for. Until then it will remain in pub limbo like this.
